You’ve probably seen the trailer for Common’s upcoming film Just Wright. However, you may not know that Common also has a new album, Go! (Common Classics), scheduled to be released May 25, which features some classic hits and brand new exclusives. One of those new tracks featured on the album is Next Time (Just Wright), which also brings on his movie co-star Queen Latifah and production by Kanye West. For some, the beat and name may sound familiar; it was released earlier this year as a track that didn’t make Finding Forever, but this version has all new verses. Using a sample from The Moments’ The Next Time That I See You, (for all you crate diggers) the production is real soft and laid back, and with Common’s new lyrics and already smooth flow over the beat, it’s hard not to just sit back and enjoy the dynamic duo of Ye and Sense. Personally, this will be put on my morning shower playlist (don’t judge), but what do you think? Do the Chi-town emcees plus the Queen’s vocals equal a hit?

I'm not sure "Next Time" will stand up straight next to the classic line-up of songs on Common's forthcoming pseudo greatest hits album, but you can't go wrong with the Ye/Com combo.

Using a basketball analogy because it applies in this situation... "Next Time" is a Jason Kidd triple-double, not a LeBron triple-double; impressive, but not aww-inspiring or impactful long term.

Common's songs are becoming a blur now. He raps as if he's that same dude on the corner. I know that's part of his appeal, but it doesn't do much for me anymore. I'd suggest trying something different, but he's done that twice with little success. Guess my tastes have grown different...

I love this version of the song, but it's actually very similar to the original...Queen Latifah doesn't really do much on here, but it's enough of a difference that I noticed. The production by Ye is excellent. It's overally a great laid-back track, which is something Common is very good at. As DJ Z said, Kanye and Common workin together on a track pretty much always turns out great.

Go! Common Classics is itself a good compilation; the tracks on there are mostly his later hits, so it is good as a sequel to Thisisme Then.

This song was pretty good. Don't know much play it will get from me, but it was good nonetheless. Sample in the background was appealing to me during it's first appearance in the intro and as the track went on, it's appeal slowly started to fade away. Common may be a great from the past, however this just really does not do it for me.

Queen Latifah? Pretty random guest feature. Aside from the somewhat hard to hear vocals she contributed near the end of the song, I wouldn't consider her a feature. This wasn't bad.

Common displays his story telling ability, and Kanye makes a decent beat if not repetitive, I'm diggin the hook/chorus lol.

I was really thrown off by these two coming together, haven't heard from her in a long time. Always down for a Common song though. I feel that this could've been an attention catcher with her. She doesn't do much for me on this at all. Stick to movie scripts I don't bump you in rap anymore. Solid production from Kanye though and Common brings it.

It's a good song, but Queen Latifah didn't do much. Oh, and by the way, his album came out today.

@RyanSx - The Latifah guest vocals are not such a random choice considering Common and The Queen star in a new movie together...

@RyanSx: I wouldn't consider her a feature either

I admire Common's story telling but I there's something off about this track. Production and sample def match the movie (West does a good job at both) but Common is off. There's no knowledge being dropped no hidden love message just him falling for a gold digger and her blessed body. Outside of rhymes that's a story that's been told and uninteresting. Inside Common's verses...well they yield the same results.

I don't see this as a single and would HAVE LOVED to hear Queen Latifah drop a verse, I almost feel cheated seeing her name next to the feature and hearing only her light vocals.

Theres a reason why this one didnt make Finding Forever. The beat doesnt work well and I feel like this verse is pretty weak (based on commons standards)

Those who've seen "Just Wright" (including me) will be a little more impressed with Common's flow - he basically parallels the movie scene by scene.

Still, I think we can all agree that while this isn't some of Sense's best work, but it's still ill.

To build off Z's sports metaphor, if The Corner is Nets Jason Kidd, this is Dallas Mavericks Jason Kidd - still good but a couple steps slow.

This is DEFINITELY a classic. I first heard this a few days ago and was instantly loving this joint. This is classic Common right here with classic 'Ye. How can you not absolutely love this joint?? I really wished Queen Latifah would spit tho. I know she heavy on her rapper turned singer but I'd pay to hear Queen spit some new bars. No lie.

Common was Courtside at the Knicks Game! I feel like Lil Wayne when it comes to common "We both like common, but we don't buy his albums!"...But the sample here is sick. Nice and easy production. Common does his usual work on the beat speaking about kicking it to a chick (again...)

Yes Like Kobe in the 4th, that’s when the game begins. But anyways I agree with iLLProphet's, this is definitely a CLASSIC to me. And I feel the same way about Queen Latifah I would have loved to hear her spit a verse on this one.

Let me join the party!

If "Be" and "Finding Forever" were pre-first retirement Jordan and "Electric Circus" and "Universal Mind Control" were Jordan with the Wizards, then this is Jordan during his return to the game...wears #45 right now, but before too long, he'll be back to #23 and getting another three-peat!

P.S. I am a sucker for Kanye's old-school soul samples. I am REALLY looking forward to "The Believer" now, and hope that "A Good Ass Job" will have more of that stuff too...

Everything sounds old school in the booth today. Common had nice wordplay. Wasn't a big fan of QL on this.

Common is Pierce making the clutch plays and being the overall player. Yeezy is handing out the assists like Rondo with his masterful production. The Queen playing the role of Ray Allen because she is smooth with her vocals just like Allen's downtown abilities. Hot song!

Kanye samples always bring a smile to my face. Basketball trivia question. What title was Jordan's most memorable? His first. Common's first ring was "One Day It Will All Make Sense".

Love the production from Kanye. Common was good, though it wasnt his best effort. His average performance with the mic is still better then 95% of rappers out there though.

I was hoping for a verse from Latifah when I first saw this on the feature page.
