If you’re looking for a little something to get you into the Christmas spirit, this… isn’t it (you may have better luck checking here, or here). If, on the other hand, you’re sick of sleighbells and snowfall and would prefer to spend your holiday season sipping umbrella drinks on some sunny island paradise, then Collie Buddz’ Holiday may be just the getaway you’ve been waiting for. Blending muted horns, breezy backing vocals and jazz-piano accents, beatsmith Homegrown sets the mood for a tropical vacation. For his part, the Bermuda-bred singer comes with verses as easy to relate to as they are suavely-delivered. Stepping into the shoes of a beleaguered nine-to-fiver, Buddz informs his boss that the whole “putting in overtime for peanuts” thing just isn’t working for him – thus, he’s shipping out immediately to enjoy some much-needed R&R. For working folks currently unable to drop everything and go on vacation, this musical Holiday may be the next best thing. If you’re digging it, you can look forward to more rejuvenating tunes on Buddz’ Playback EP, scheduled to hit the net for free download on January 18.

If you've followed Buddz' career up to this point then you know exactly what you're getting from him. This falls in line with the rest of his laid back, highly-enjoyed catalog-to-date. For the smokers out there (and we don't endorse smoking), this one will be quite the "Holiday."

The instrumental could have been more lively than this... If that was put on point, it would have been a banger (if not in the states, in the Caribbean). Nevertheless, the song serves it's purpose. Not extravagantly, but yea....
