Kon Live‘s “Secret Weapon,” Colby O’Donis, has sent the DJ Booth a brand new song off his upcoming debut, Colby O. Sticking with topics the average person can relate to, Colby details the process of longtime female friends becoming potential significant others. After that long search for Ms. Right, could she really have been Under My Nose all along? Produced by his boss Akon (who will handle most of the album’s production duties), Under My Nose might not be an official single, but don’t be surprised if it’s chosen as one sometime later this year. The first Kon Live project not courtesy of Akon or T-Pain, Colby O, will be released on July 29.
Note: The streaming of “Under My Nose” has temporarily been suspended.
i remember "what you got"
i really liked that song.
but since then, i havent liked anything else.
i'll either like the beat,
or likes his sung verses.
in this one, i go for the lyrics, which i think are only decent. but the beat throws me off.
Umm, a little subpar for the Colby/Akon arrangement. The beat is a little lacking and isn't as hot as the past couple tracks. I still give Colby a ton of respect for his singing and smooth smooth voice. Flutes a little weird actually. There are songs that can pull it off, but it didn't feel like the 'off' instrument was incorporated well. Oh well, they're bound to churn out another track!
LET ME SAY THIS FIRST: Colby O’Donis ft. Akon - What You Got- is the most over played song ever! It almost made me start hating this guy, because he just seemed so cheesy. But this right here, dis ish right here, I can rock with this. This is much more smooth and more realistic and too my liking. Colby can definitely sing. He saved me as a potential fan with this one, because I was sure writing him off with that "What You Got" single. This is nice though.
I would agree that What U Got is defenetly over played and I am getting sick of it a little but I like that song a lot more then this because the beat is MUCH better and its faster to.I mean Colby or the record company must of liked that song more to or they would not put that out as the first single.
As soon as you hear the clang of the jailcell, and Akon saying, "Konvcit...", you automatically have a banger on your hands. Colby is a biggie in my books, sounds like old-school Boyz II Men verses, over an Usher-esque beat. Great track. Konvict Label is swelling to a great imprint.
So far I like all the songs I heard by Colby O'Donis...he has a good voice and it's always a pleasure to me to listen to soft, smooth and catchy r&b songs like this! They are always welcome to my computer and mp3 player lol! The only problem is that I get tired of them very quickly, maybe because they lack originality (as MAD(e) wrote)...but I don't care, originality or not this is a good song, the beat is catchy and the melody is good. Will be one of my summer joints
Trust me when I tell you this: Colby's debut is going to be HOT FLAMES. His voice and Akon's guidance really create a great listen. This is a QUALITY album track. (PS. Colby is a DJBooth Member)
This is pretty smooth, im impressed by Colby. He is one of the most radio-friendly artists I have heard in a while. I am glad that Colby did the hook on this one instead of Akon.
This is a very chill track and Colby'O does a great job vocally, I think he pretty much killed the song. But on other note, this song has no comparison to "What You Got" (which is still my favourite colby'o song so far). I don't think this song will be radio-material because it's just way too slow (maybe a remix would help). Like I mentioned before, his 2nd single will most likely be "she didnt go, she didnt leave."
I've been a supporter of Colby (and pretty much all of the talent packin' Konvict artists, but Colby was the first I've heard off the label, and along with Rock City & Kardi, has my fullest support) since back a long time ago (I think it was early last year), when "What You Got" first leaked out. As one who doesn't usually turn on his radio (sorry guys, can't stand some of the tracks, I think I got like a Low-phobia WITHOUT even turning it on more than 3 times (for not a long time at all) during the whole season. I have a lot of faith in Colby, and he's putting it back at me. With Akon behind the scenes and Colby's smooth singing style and voice, you know the album is gonna be loaded with great stuff.
I've heard of akons secret weapon a while ago and although he has a boyband kinda voice in a way, I still find myself liking a lot of his songs. They are incredibly smooth and usually catchy. And his voice is always flawless.
