Over the course of the past year, Colby O’Donis’ career has seen its share of peaks and valleys; despite the overwhelming success of lead single What You Got, Colby O peaked at an underwhelming #41 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. Just as many were beginning to write him off, though, O’Donis’ guest appearances on Lady Gaga‘s worldwide smash, Just Dance, and his boss, Akon‘s successful single, Beautiful, provided proof that the singer wasn’t about to fall by the wayside. In fact, he’s already getting started on his sophomore LP. New single I Wanna Touch You finds Colby O struggling to maintain self-control as he eyes a lady he knows is already taken. Complete with a keyboard-synth instrumental by KonLive in-house producer Red One, I Wanna Touch You has potential to be as successful a summer jam as What You Got was in ‘08. Will O’Donis’ proven formula yield another hit? We’ll have to wait until the single’s Memorial Day release to know for sure.

Yeah...I'm withholding my emotions about the production. But, I will say....I LOVE IT!!! Heh. It sounds hip-hop, but at the same time, not. This track is hot. No doubt about it. It has replay value, and probably mass radio success. Colby did right on this one. I would say Banger, but...tht production pushes the rating up a star. I have to call this classic.

This kid is for real. He had some real smooth vocals on here. Should do good on radio. Colby has major talent and looks to me to be a big part of the future of R&B.

The production is banging on here and Colby kills the hook. This has so much radio appeal and its not like those other generic r&b tracks out there. Colby is smooth on this..so much talent! Banger!

Colby has the goods to do the damn thing... he just needs the label to take the handcuffs off. His debut album shows glimpses of stardom, but they shackled him down creatively. I hope this is a step in the right direction for his second go round.
PS. Red One is on a mean streak. Dude is incapable of turning in a weak upbeat production effort.

This sound like it could be a big radio hit, but it is lacking something melodically to push it to that status. The production is cool and the hook is real catchy. The melody on the verses, tho, is weak and boring at times. Rotation for obvious hit potential.

Colby O can sing. I hope he has more success on his next album. Recently, I heard another track by him titled "ooh ahh" produced by brian kennedy and that track is FIERCE!!! Not his best track but it's viable.

Never was a huge fan of this guy, but he definitely can sing and this just proves it more. But I agree... the hook > all the verses...and that's where it's lacking.

This one might have to grow on me, but it is a sick beat! I always thought that Colby O had great potential, but I was pretty disappointed in his album. This song definitely has hit potential because of Red One's awesome club beat! I don't think I've heard one beat by him thatr I don't like.

i wasnt a big fan of What U Got, but it was still a very good track. this is another track im not completely sold on, but i like it and it has a lot of room to grow on me. 3.5 ill round up cuz of potential to grow on me.

I am so thankful for these end of week reviews, otherwise I would of missed this great track from O'Donis.
I dont see O'Donis being dropped anytime soon by Konvict, despite poor album sales. As long as he can make one great track (which this is) on each album, the single sales should be able to keep Akon & Interscope happy |

commercial pop for colby but it works because his vocals rises 2 expectations...he needs to transcend this genre that he's now being associated with...in other words he needs 2 become like Justin Timberlake...and choose collabs that will expand his genre association..played on radio but gettin spun by me
