Like Gravity, love is a force which influences each and every one of us, no matter how hard we try to keep on an even keel. And, like gravity, love has a knack for bowling us over when we least expect it, usually making us look really dumb in the process. Not even the uber-smooth likes of Colby O’Donis can resist its pull, as evidenced by this new single (the singer’s first as a EMI signee). Over a glimmering, acoustic-guitar/synth instrumental (co-produced by O’Donis, along with Mali B and J Mizzle), the artist recounts how, just when he thought that no woman could put game on him, a special shawty walked into his life and turned him into a lovesick, constantly-calling-her basket case. Luckily, that’s just the kind of basket case you can count on to write good R&B songs – of which this is clearly one. Or have I got it twisted? Those who agree with my assessment will want to keep their browsers locked for the latest on the singer’s Colby O Deluxe LP, which has yet to receive a solid release date.

Its been a while since we last heard from Colby, but the kid is back and he has a super duper catchy R&B/Pop record in his back pocket. If this gets a real push from his label/people, with any radio support at all it should hit the charts hard. Sad to see his situation with Akon crumble, but I think O'Donis has a great shot on his own. We shall see.

Dig this song. I like the guitars and synths in this. Sounds like a simplified Stargate beat, but still dope.

This type of music is not always my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal. I could put this into rotation; Colby's vocals work well over the guitar-laced production.

Colby's no longer with Konvict? Akon must not need a singer for the label now that he's making that Lady Gaga money.
I've never had a problem with Colby, he's at the forefront of that new class of hip-pop crooners, and this is another light, radio friendly cut. Hopefully he can come back better than ever.

This was a decent track. I'm surprised that he is already off the Konvict Music label. Anyway, his voice is still great and the beat was ok.

Dang finally! I havent heard from him in way too long... He can really sing. This is a very nice song from him. It will be on the radio for a while. And it will probally be on the charts next week. The production in this is really great from himself and Mali-B & J- Mizzle. A banger.
