Akon’s “Secret Weapon,” Colby O’Donis, has hit the club with his first official buzz single, What You Got. After spotting a female who is busy flirting with every man on the dance floor, Colby tries to convince her to stop so she can settle down with him. Helping out the young O’Donis is his boss, Akon, who lets her know she’s playing with his mind (similar to I Wanna Love You and Hypnotized). All of the proven elements for a hit are in place (highlighted by Kon’s synth-heavy backdrop); it should only be a matter of time before What You Got gets stuck in everyone’s head.
I am really interested to see how long this Akon/T-Pain Konvict trend with continue until everybody gets sick of it. With Colby coming up and a few other new Konvict artists, don't hope for it to be soon. They got it going on over there. This record will work great in a mix.
If any of my brotha DJ's need shout out's for their re-mixes feel free to hit me up on my site Now this song AKON wrote and Produced. This song is the sh!t, already stuck in my head lol, and is it me or have a lot of Artists been coming on here making accounts after there songs have been put up? but 2007 has been the year for Akon!, he's been the man to look for all year round, but he's starting to slow down right now.. but personally he's one of my favorite labels and artist.
i cant stop listening to your song is so goooooooooooood i love it so much i gotta get diz down on my i pod right yeah well you keep it up im alreaddy your #1 fan i love you :)
I am telling you...I haven't heard a weak track from this kid YET! All the other tracks on DJbooth were very good and so is this. This guy can compete with Justin and Robin Thicke...You guys wait and see. Just as I called Akon and 50 years ago, this guy really has what it takes. This track is very smooth and wasn't overproduced by Akon. His voice is really relaxing and smooth as well, to match the track greatly. Can't wait to hear an album from him!
I dont really like this guy. He dresses like a kid who goes to my school and looks like he trying to look gangster or something... But this isnt as bad as his other songs.
I seen Colby at the Rihanna/Akon concert this past Sept. He only made an appearence and sang a lil' acapella. He sounds decent but too teeny-bopperish for me. I just can't get too excited about artists who come out on stage and the people going crazy are lil' "pop-tart" white chicks....lol.
I'm 100% with Blaze here. @the1uheard about; Akon has practically disappeared for a while- it's been all T-Pain- so it's hard to complain NOW that you're tired of Akon.
umm no this wouldnt be a song without akon u retard. and u cant really compare akon and t-pain coz there pretty much the same.
but otherwise this songs G R E A T and colby has a very nice voice id buy this track
I think this dude has the best "natural" voice out of the 3 Convict artists. T-Pain and Akon's unique voices make them very different, and hard to comapare to anyone else. However, it looks like he is wearing an extra medium sized jacket in that picture LOL!
I dig this song, but i really wish that Akon wasn't on it. This whole Konvict thing is cool most of the time but I feel like sometimes they DON'T need Akon to do a verse.
This song is sick! lol it reminds me of my ex-gf.. "always talkin about what you got".. got that sh8t in my head. Props on this colby and keep producing trax like these.
peace
now i like this song its aight .. but one thing i can say is the lyrics sound like a 5th grader wrote them jus basik thing that rhyme .. this first single might put him half way on themap but he needs to come harder ...
wuz up wit my Seattle radio station "Kube".They just started play-n dis song today! It's old now....Colby ur still not impress-n me. C'mon step it up wit anotha song...wit anotha gud artist like Lil Wayne or Lil Boosie- yea dat b great wit dem.
Yep Yep.... I love Colby O's voice... He sound so good and in the lyrics I'm feeling. He with Akon in this song is jus crazy... It makes me like it even more... I'm feeling it if you not your crazy... The beat it doin' it.
