Co$$ (aka Ca$hus King) - Time Is Now
Artist: Co$$ (aka Ca$hus King)
Producer: Numonics
Album: Being Cool Doesn't Pay the Bills
Label: Tres Records
If you’re a born procrastinator, raise your hand… tomorrow. I am, but I’ve managed to get my act together (mostly). First-time featuree Co$$ (aka Cashus King), on the other hand, is all about immediate action; on the latest leak off South Floridian producer Numonics’ forthcoming street album, he announces that the Time Is Now for us to evolve and begin working towards socioeconomic justice – both directly and, as in Co$$’ case, through the power of the pen. The Los Angeles rapper delivers plenty of insight on the lyrical tip, recounting how “crime killed [his] innocence” during his inner-city childhood, and emphasizing just how determined he is to change his world for the better. Numonics (who, on an unrelated note, is currently suffering from the flu – feel better, man!) backs the emcee’s earnest rhymes with a soulfully energetic sampled beat sure to have listeners nodding along. Those who like what they’re hearing can find TIN, as well as previous features from Sene (Departure Time) and Dre Biggity (On the Comedown) on Numonics’ Being Cool Doesn’t Pay The Bills mixtape, set to hit the ‘net “soon.”

Numonics is always on point on the production tip. He has sent us LOTS of material and I'd say that 95% of it is no-doubt-about-it Booth-Approved. Co$$ is not new to my ears, but he is new to the Booth. His flow is decent, but his passion is evident (which always gets major brownie points in my book).
Looking forward to this Booth-hosted project! |

I love how there is a new first-time feature like every night haha. But anyway I can hear the passion Z was talkin about. He's got talent, no doubt. And shouts to Numonics, who is a very talented producer.

Hmmm...the beat's ill, and the flow's ill, but am I the only one who thinks they don't match up well. The pacing of the beat and the cadence of Co$$'s flow sound off to me, just couldn't get into it.

Pretty soulful stuff. Numonics gets the atmospheric sounds and combines them with quirky boom bap staples to form something utterly memorable. And Co$$ handles the rest! Great introduction!

I gotta roll with Mr S. on this one I feel like the production n Co$$ clash way, way, way too much. I love them both separately on this track but it hurts to listen.
