Capone-n-Noreaga‘s second studio album dropped November 21st of 2000, which means that devoted fans have been waiting eight years, three months, and 11 days for the duo’s re-reunion album.  Now, the LP’s release is finally, finally in sight—Channel 10 is scheduled to drop next Tuesday, the 10th.  Though not a single, the newly-released Grand Royal should give listeners an idea of what Capone and N.O.R.E. have in store on the forthcoming album.  A hard-hitting, cleverly-arranged beat by East Coast legend DJ Premier (check out the constant, subtly claustrophobic trills in the background) sets the stage as CNN come out swinging, taking full advantage of the contrast between N.O.R.E.‘s gruff, aggressive rhymes and Capone‘s tightly-wound, higher-pitched flow.  Though previously-featured cuts Money and Follow the Dollar failed to elicit much excitement in the Booth, Grand Royal may well have what it takes to convince the doubters.

The production on here is decent! I am feeling the unorthodox beat. NORE sounds good on here, and he always sounds better with the Capone on the tracks with him. Capone goes a little bit harder than NORE on here, but overall its a good track that I will throw into rotation!

I agree wit Blaze, I like the goofy/different production. The contrast between the two voices do make the song really interesting, and both artists do they thing "on the microphone... word up." I love the scratchin on this song, what a lot of mainstream rap is missin. I could bump this again...

Yeah the beat is out of the ordinary but its pretty fresh and the scratchin is pretty hot! Lyrics are decent but the beat overpowers. In rotation

For every listener who said "WTF" when they saw CNN doing songs with Shawty Lo and Ron Browz - "Grand Royal" is what this duo is all about. This is the best song these two men have put together this decade. Yeah, I said it. Period. End of story.

This is extremely boring, I'm not really feelin the production, too repetitive. I don't like that background sound! Their flows are kinda good, though. I don't think I would listen to this song again, but dudes have skills

Yo Z I concur 100%, this is CNN getting back to their roots. That other stuff was too commcercial. The beat here goes hard and the flow is on point. Both stepped up and should stick to this style.

Ehh. It's alright. The scratchin is tight, but I'm not really feelin the rest of the production. I can't see myself putting this one in the rotation.

Premier is still a beast on the boards! I love his production style. CNN's flow is on point. Nice track.

glad to see these two back to their roots nad not the bubble gum hip hop they have been featured and to no surprise Premier lays down the production and puts that signature scratch on it
