City Haze - Dream Boy
Artist: City Haze
Producer: Jimba Frosty
Album: Star of the City
Label: Unsigned
In June, we introduced City Haze to our readers with the Levar Thomas-assisted On My Way. Members of our site dubbed the song a “feel good record,” citing the “throwback vibe” and “smooth flow” as reason for their 4 and 5-star ratings. Now, a little less than two months later, the New York native is back with the second official leak off his forthcoming mixtape, Star of the City. On Dream Boy, Haze is once again joined by Thomas, who asks women everywhere to “open your eyes” and behold the dreams that exist in real life. Spitting creative variations on cliché pickup lines (I wouldn’t try rapping them to a prospective female), Haze sounds right at home over Jimba Frosty‘s grown-and-sexy production. With a little luck (and a breath mint), he should have listeners convinced of his skills (musical and otherwise) in no time.

Yea I'll agree wit that better Jim Jones comment. The key word there is better, though. He does have a lot of similar corny metaphors and his voice is very close to Jones', but he held together his flow a lil better and was less choppy. I liked the vocals on the hook and the smooth production to go wit it, so its rotating.

Rotating... without a doubt. Way way way too smooth not to be in rotation.

The production is pretty good and Levar's voice flows smoothly with the beat ... Lyrics, again nuthin special are on-point. Though its not as catchy as "On My Way" ... Rotation-Stuff.

i agree 100% . Also in my opinion city haze reminds me of an new era Fabolous . His sound is very smooth but has that top notch Brooklyn swagger to it . but After hearing both traxx Haze & Levar are definitely a real serious problem on the collabo scene .

As usual, love the guitar in the production. This is a cool track to ride with ya woman with. I like it. Kinda forgetable, and I don't like the hook, it doesn't blend well with the song.
