The best artists are skilled at switching between a variety of musical styles and lyrical themes.  In Ciara‘s case, complementing her club bangers (Goodies, 1-2 Step, Get Up, Go Girl) are slower, more laid-back jams (And I, Promise, Can’t Leave Him Alone).  Staying true to that gameplan, she has reenlisted Promise producer Polow Da Don for the latest single off her long-awaited junior album, Fantasy RideNever Ever is a smooth track encouraging females not to let their unrequited love for any man ruin their lives, but CiCi doesn’t neglect to provide a male perspective – enter Young Jeezy, who delivers a guest verse reminiscent of his contribution on Usher‘s Love in This Club.  In a nutshell, Never Ever has something for everyone; hopefully that appeal is enough to get Fantasy Ride a solid release date.

This song first appeared on the R&B / Pop Chart on January 12, 2009

I am a fan of the original joint that was interpolated into this joint ("If You Don't Know Me By Now" by The Sytlistics) I really like the production and this ballad style from Ciara. This is one of the freshest joints I've ever heard from her. This should shut late winter/spring radio down! It's got that classic feel and it's something different. I truthfully don't think Jeezy matched this song AT ALL. I don't think any rapper should have been on this song. It was fine without it. It would have been better if Ciara just did a cool breakdown/bridge party and came back in with an epic outro. Either way, into rotation is goes.

Right off the bat I liked the beat but I think it could've went to better use with a different artist...but she did good and I thought Jeezy did good too. O my gosh just thinking of love reminds me about how much I MISS MY EX-BOYFRIEND!!!:[ o_m_gosh (tear)...it's hard to get over your first love when you're the one who screwed up. :[

Polow does not, i repeat, does not sound good on this at all. period. ciara's a very talented artist, and easily, and beautifully, fit the song. You'd think with Jeezy's raspy voice, he'd only hit on a thug song, but he easily adapted to the instrumental.

And I like all the little loves stories posted above. Donjonjon's was cute... and WOW:/... yeah girl I know, I'm in your shoes...miss'n my ex too!

The Young Jeezy feature alone should get her closer to a release date. Then when the song isn't garbage either, it helps. Jeezy really surprised me here. I thought it was a sample or someone else at first, then I was like wtf, it's Jeezy.

It's an ok-song. This kinda song just showcases even more how poor her vocals are. Definetely not a single trying to hype up the album. It would have been nice as 3rd or 4th single if the album is actually out already. Jeezy as feature seems odd.
@Michael Hannah
it's not The Stylistics or any other cover versions. The original is Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes.

nothing special bout this song at all apart from that great sample. i'm getting worried about what fantasy ride is gonna deliver if this is the best that Ciara can deliver after the boring Go Girl. why she didn't go with High Price or Echo will always puzzle me.
...saying that once this is all over the radio i'll probably tap a foot ;)

Definitely brings thoughts of Love in this Club without or the vocal presence. Jeezy was a great fit in this one I believe the placement was improper it should've been more like 4 bars Ciara, 2bars Jeezy, and switch back in forth. This was still cool the production was nice but again too much like Usher's track.

I like this record..Think it could be a hit. Jeezy alwayz comes on a track and makes it his own whether its with usher, kanye, mariah carey, he still does his thing. I'd give it a 4.5 but ima rate it a 5 cause i think it will climb the charts quick like.

I have to say this is the best song Ciara has bringed out so far, Go Girl ain't ALL THAT but this one I feel it. Nice production from Polow Da Don and I like the lyrics... and like M.H. said she didn't needed no rapper for this song. ;)

Im feelin it. I don't think jeezy should have been on this track. Ciara could have held this down her self.

Hey guys, that male voice in the beginning was actually Polow, so don't blame Jeezy for that.

Overall, this is a solid comeback. Will definitely sit well with the urban AC crowd. My only issue is that I think they could have gotten another rapper to fit better on this type of song (Joc, Weezy, Plies, etc.)-don't get me wrong, Jeezy's verse was solid, but I think he'd fit better on a more uptempo song. But still, it's a solid single, and will no doubt enhance appeal for Fantasy Ride (if the three-disc thing is still the plan, it's gonna be on the "Groove City" disc).

to me it doesnt sound like Jeezy in the beggining, its sounds like polow stacked his vocals over his because jeezy probably couldnt hit the notes..
