Numerous industry heads have said Chrishan is the “future of R&B.” Hailing from Toledo, Ohio, but currently representing both Atlanta and Minneapolis, the R&B singer got his start in the music business by being a part of a family band. Presently, though, the 18-year old has taken his career into his own hands (as a multi-threat songwriter and producer as well), and has attracted offers from several major labels. After the iTunes success of Do It To It (which featured Urban World’s Young Bishop), Chris exclusively released The Official EP on March 25; the project served a dual purpose as a seller and a demo for the labels. On Chris’s second single, Late 4 Us, the young singer expresses some uncertainty over the possibility of a future relationship. Is it good enough to land the man a deal?
I think Chrishan is a pretty good singer judging from this track. This track was done nicely by him and its a big plus to have an artist that totally makes his/her own music. I just don't know if he has anything here to set him apart from the other new names (which are already bigger than his) in the game. This can go into rotation.
Great voice. I feel like heard this track before. This is a great time for black male R&B's. It almost reminds me of the ' early 90s when you had Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, G. Levert, Keith Sweat, R. Kelly, and B. Mcknight. But I don't know if these new artists will reach the success of their predecessors.
This is a pretty decent track considering the fact that he's guiding his career and songs all himself. I don't hear anything groundbreaking about his vocals or production. Once this guy gets in the booth with big-time producers, hopefully his talent level will improve.
Wow finally there's someone who can write and produce! That's what a complete artist should do. But everyone has got his own skills, and Chrishan has got many! The song ain't so "explosive" but it may grow on me more and more...the music is really good, such as the melody. His voice is a typical r&b one but I'm sure he'll show he can do better! Bangerrr!
finally a person who can write and produce? what about ne-yo, dream, and prolly others that just havent got into the spot light yet..dont think im coming at you pattypatty tho..lol..its nice but theres so many people right now in the same spot as him that sound better and are getting better promotion..hes got some work to do
u can tell he can sing but deres nuthin about his voice dats helping him to stand out or maybe its jus da fact dat da song is average...it do got a nice r&b feel to it but its sumthin dat can quickly b forgotten as well....no part of da song sticks out n grabs my attention. but big props to him for bein a producer n songwriter...
Being able to write and produce his own music is more than Chris Brown can say... only difference is that Chrishan's voice isn't that of Chris Brown. If this is just the start of things to come, however, I am encouraged and excited to hear more.
MJB I agree with you, I've expressed myself in a wrong way...I meant, finally someone NEW who can sing + write + produce. There are many who can do it for sure, for example Ne-Yo! Hope u understand what I mean! Sometimes I'm so tired of seeing singers/rappers who present their new songs and it's written "produced by"...not everybody has writing skills,ok, but I think one should at least try! Maybe they try, who knows lol
Rihanna, for example, can't sing live (I heard her) and can't write songs, either. Her albums are produced by 3838738 different producers lol..all together to save the poor Rihanna ahahahah!
Londons finest you are English and maybe you agree with me that Jay Sean should have recognition in here, too! I find him very talented, I've listened to his new album and it's very well done. DjBooth put "Ride It" and "Stay" by Jay Sean if you can, they are excellent r&b uptempo songs ;)
PattyPatty85 the did put up j-sean's 'just a friend' on here which was cool, and 'ride it' is a great tune! but if you listen to a guy from England called Darren B, look out for him cos he's a great singer.
mkay where do i start...this ni99a fyne ass hel first of all..second of all i gat dis song on ma myspace...i first heard this when ma x boyfriend dedicated dis to me..yea he not ma x nomo he ma current but yea anywaysz dis song gat me obssesed wit it..he did a good ass job..why aint he signed yet..??
Londons yeah I've heard Just A Friend on the Booth but it ain't the best of Jay Sean's to me! Ride It is very different in my opinion. I've listened to Darren B's Stand By You but I don't go crazy for it...maybe too slow for me! BTW he can sing and I'll look for other songs by him, for sure ;)
