If the name Chris Richardson rings a bells it’s likely because you may remember the crooner from his stint on season six of American Idol and/or, most recently, as the newest singer signed to Cash Money Records. Now that the Virginia Beach songster has put in a few months at his brand new label he’s ready to put his vocals to good use. Last week, Richardson recruited fellow YMCMB label mate Tyga for his Detail-produced new single Joy & Pain and he’s now followed up with an accompanying music video for the record. Like the song’s title, the music video for Joy & Pain is a series of ups and downs between Richardson and his lady. There are smiles amidst bickering and cuddling followed by vases being thrown across a room. As of now there’s no word on when Richardson will be releasing his debut project, but check back for updates.

If you haven't heard any of Chris's previous recordings, you MUST youtube him! His sound is reminiscent of Justin Timberlake, and since rumor has it that JT may be retiring from music.... Get on the bandwagon and listen to this kids voice...it is absolutely amazing, and him being a finalist on AI, just shows that he can sing good live...and he's absolutely adorable! An amazing talent!

Cool to see Tyga returning the favor for "Far Away". Nice debut track for Chris Richardson. Gonna help give Cash money some more musical flexibility and diversity.

I've been following and supporting Chris Richardson since day one on Idol! He has worked so hard and remained determined to bring his music to his fans! Had the pleasure of meeting him multiple times and he is so sweet, sincere and grounded. I wish him only the best of everything in his future…watch out world, you're going to be blown away by what Chris has to bring you! His debut single Joy and Pain is just the tip of the iceberg.

Chris' soulful, R&B-tinged vocals really shine on this song, which could become a nice radio hit. The opening verse featuring Tyga adds a cool hip-hop feel. If you're a fan of this song, be sure to check out Chris' other song with Tyga, "Far Away," as well as his other solo songs "All Alone," "Damn Thing," "Floating Off The Ground," "Victim Of Love," and "In The Name Of Love." They're all worth a listen, and offer a glimpse at this talented young artist's potential.

This song needs to be the lead single off Chris Richardsons next project. It's too good not to be. Nice inclusion by adding Tyga, who owed Chris one anyway as well.
