Santa Cruz native Chris Rene may not have clenched the victory on the first season of The X Factor, but that hasn’t stopped the multi-talented artist from keeping things rolling with his music. After getting into a little Trouble on his DJBooth debut, the singer/emcee returns to our pages with his lively new record Rockin’ With You. On the single, Rene has eyes for just one lady and professes his faithfulness on the songs hook as he sings, “Them other girls now that used to come around/ Don’t mean a thing now cause I’m only rockin’ with you.” Those unfamiliar with Rene, or his appearance on The X Factor, will likely be in for an unexpected surprise towards the end of the Chuck Harmony-produced song as the EPIC artist effortlessly switches from crooner to emcee. Look out for more tunes from the Cali songster when his I’m Right Here EP is released in the near future.

I love "I'm only Rockin' with You" It's a really good song that you just want to listen to over and over. He writes,, sings and makes music. He is talented beyond description! I suppose he's got the X Factor... Love everything Chris Rene releases! His first album Soul'd Out is AMAZING and I can't wait for his new EP "I'm Right Here" to come out on 2nd October! REPLAY!

I'm a hardcore Hip-Hop lover & I'm definitely feelin the vibe on this track and Chris unique voice is what makes this song a solid hit. His "ringing" rap/singing style is what separates him from being a one dimensional singer, this allows him to make music most artists today can't do. You can argue that Drake does this style but that cat can't sing to save his life and his rapping is average compared to the likes of lyricists like Nas, Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, etc. I like when Chris raps because he's not trying to be a prolific lyricist, yet he still gets his point across in a way I can appreciate and respect. The man creates great music that's why he's my favorite musician.
