Young Chris and Neef Buck may have traded their former stage name, “Young Gunz,” for the self-explanatory “Chris & Neef,” but listeners worried that the switch signifies a departure from the twosome’s hard-nosed roots can breathe a sigh of relief; when the Philly natives announce “We Bak like we never left,” on this new mixtape single, they’re telling the gospel truth. Certifyd mans the boards on this street banger, cooking up a beat featuring staccato synths, midtempo percussion, and about as many firearm-related sound effects as one record can hold; the State Property alumni, of course, come with lyrical aggression to match, spitting about robberies-turned-homicides, bodies in trash bags and (of course) plenty of gunplay. Will these currently-independent Northeastern mainstays succeed in taking their game to the next level under their newly-streamlined moniker? Good to hear the gunnaz back in action. Hopefully State Prop can reunite and create that heat they used to have. YG'z were always favorites of mine, hopefully they've grown wit dis new mixtape.

The average production was good because it let Chris & Neef shine more, their flows are both very different which is always good for a group I wreckin'. Nice.

I was much more excited about Field Mob's reunion "We Byck" which also dropped today.
Still, this is pretty tight. I know it works with their name, but that gun click and cock sound effect is a little played out...still, the vocals are pretty on point, and it does bang.

It's cool. Was never a big fan of these guys when they first dropped. They acutally stepped it up a little. I would play this a few times..

the production is so average, they'll never be back with so-so beats. they need to go holla @ bink, justice league, canei finch, and me :)
chris and neef over top class production is a suprerb product even they no this ... i dunno why they wasting barz on subpar shit. |

I've only heard of these guys from Jay-Z's Takeover. "Chris and Neef, we runnin this rap shit" Decent track here, perhaps a little behind the times commercially, but actually, its pretty refreshing. No doubt these dudes are talented.
