Chris Brown - Turn Up The Music
Artist: Chris Brown
Producer: The Underdogs and Fuego
Album: Fortune
Label: RCA
At this point I think we can consider Chris Brown fully back in the eyes of the music buying public, and apparently in the eyes of the Grammy Committee. So with an eye on returning to platinum status on his upcoming Fortune album, Brown unleashes new single Turn Up The Music. The first headlining track we’ve heard from Breezy since last summer’s Strip, Turn Up the Music takes R&B’s current love for the dance floor and turns up the volume yet another notch, grabbing a The Underdogs and Fuego beat so high energy it makes Four Loko look like Valium. (For those who didn’t get the reference, that means it’s really, really high energy). Vocally Breezy doesn’t care about anything but getting the party started, releasing a torrent of straight ahead singing that even goes super old school by asking fine females to put their hands in the air if they’re “sexy and you know it.” Does Music sound like the kind of number one hit that will propel Brown’s currently unscheduled Fortune album to the top of the charts? We’ll find out what DJBooth Nation thinks in the comments and rating below.

Be prepared to hear this record in every club you frequent for the next 3-4 months. On repeat. The only question is what veteran or hot-at-the-moment emcee will jump on board for a guest 16? Do I hear Busta, anyone?

This will def be a club record, that being said, I wonder how long it will take to get played out.

This is a great Club record, just like CB's other club bangers from the past. Busta would be a crazy addition Z! Make it happen so I can give this 4-stars instead of 3...

I can tell this will be a defo club record as others have said. It's not anything special but will get attention anyway. I like it but say it is pretty average and will turn some heads as it is part of the style of late.

Unlike anyone has said so far, I think this is going to be played all over the clubs. Nice little track, not too much substance to the lyrics, but the clubs never really care or like that anyway. While not fully committing to this style with every track yet, he looks like he is following Flo Rida's path these days.

I like it, but I know for a fact that as time goes by I will learn to hate it after is constantly played out everywhere I go. Solid club anthem for Chris.

Chris Brown now has regained his presence to help bring back real R&B and still get a crossover hit with it... but yet again he chooses to take the easy option by making a straight up pop tune (average like the rest of them)!

Strong single for CB, haven't been a big R&B fan in a while but he's one of the best singers in the game.
Like Aussie Pride I'm a big electro/dance fan and down in Australia this music has always been massive...before lmfao & flo-rida etc This isn't as good as his previous club tracks (Beautiful People, Forever) but should be a worldwide hit |

Nowhere near as good as 'Beautiful People' loved that track, a great guest feature? Busta, maybe. Obvious choice would be Flo (I hope not) My choice, Give Tinie Tempah some bars, he'd murder this.

Well it's not like people need more hardcore thuqq lyyf Hip Hop in clubs.
Nope. Not at all. Not even a little. I'm sorry another Hip Hop head had to break it to you--well, some of you. This track definitely served its purpose with plenty of synergy to spare. Hopefully a successful guest will pick up that extra synergy and fuel the fire. |
