After the recent release of his first mixtape cut, Eat Your Vegetables, Childish Gambino serves up the fourth single from his Glassnote Records debut album, Camp. Fire Fly, a certified car cruiser, is self-produced alongside Ludwig Goransson. From the word “GO,” the track’s horn chords and key melodies automatically put the listener in the mood for a picturesque drive down the Cali coast with a lady riding shotgun just taking in the sights. Paired with a catchy hook, Gambino handily smashes through his 16’s like he’s a seasoned vet. He’s definitely letting the fans know that he can indeed hold his own in the game, regardless of the doubters from his past who never thought it would happen. Gambino’s self-titled mixtape still doesn’t have a release date, but when it drops it’s sure to give you more of the fire that he brought us on Camp. Gambino has grown on me as an emcee, but every time I am done listening to one of his songs I am always more impressed with the production work. The more he raps, though, the better he will become since his growth over the past year or so has been overly noticeable.

Not really feeling the chorus much but CG was pretty cool on the bars at times. Just felt a little dated...

Not my favourite cut from Gambino but it fits in so well with the classic 'CAMP'. More an album song then single to me.

Never thought of this as single material, fits much better in with the album as a whole. Still worthy of 4 stars though, the whole Camp album was great, can't wait for his new mixtape to drop
