Judging on sound alone, Chester French aren’t a group you’d expect to hear collaborating with rap stars—of course, that only makes it that much cooler that on their new mixtape, created in collaboration with DJ Clinton Sparks, they do just that, hooking up with Jermaine Dupri, Bun B, Wale, and many more.  On the newly-released Ciroc Star, two of the biggest names in the bunch jump on board to rap the praises of their favorite upscale vodka brand.  Those who saw Diddy‘s 2007 television commercial already know he’s a Ciroc fan; here, he kicks the party (and the record) off with an offer of free shots.  Next to rep his drink of choice over CF’s crunching electric-guitar chords is Jadakiss, who spits some game to the ladies present and ends his verse with a hearty “A-heh!”  As Sparks states at the end, Clinton Sparks & NMC Cartel Present: Jacques Jams Vol. 1: Endurance is out now and available for free download—if this cut leaves you wanting more, you can grab your copy here.

I downloaded the tape earlier today and "Ciroc Star" is by far not one of the better tracks on the project. Quite frankly, I'm tired of Diddy mixing his endorsements with his music. I wonder how much free Ciroc he gave the Harvard alumnis in order to get this collaboration in the first place. *Jadakiss laugh*

Chester French is pretty good and this guitar beat works well for both Diddy and Jadakiss. The hook has nice energy overall this is banging! Definitely download the mixtape there are some standout tracks like I'm So Tall with Bun B, Kweli and Mickey Factz which you know will be dope and the skits are hilarious . Im not gonna lie I kind of downloaded the mixtape for that lineup and for the Wale song which is decent. This is the new hiphop/rock we need!

The hook was only OK, but I'm not really into alternative rock. I agree with "ultimate hip-hop," however, that the guitar beat fit both Diddy and especially Jada (but he kills every beat). I enjoyed the collabo, though.

Curious about the future of this industry and how its artists will make money? Look no further than PRODUCT PLACEMENT, baby.

This mixtape is flame... don't sleep on this guys because they are alt-pop. Their core is slightly urban and it all works real well.

Well done rap rock combo. Never heard of Chester French so didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Diddy did his thang and kinda had to shine on this since the songs promoting his vodka. Jada ends it nicely.

I like the energy in the production & Jada really shines on this beat ... Diddy brings some decent lyrics with an average hook by CF ... Maybe not for everyone but its a solid track to deserve In-Rotation ...

Not feelin it; I'm one for Rock-Rap collabos but I just can't get over the lack of creativity in both the name and the hook...pass

Have to say that I don't have the tape yet but I'm not suprised to see Star Trak behind on the right of the colon after "label".

I would say pretty weak effort all around, I wouldn't consider this a repeat listener and all in all it's just an extended advertisement...I don't mind a little product placement but when it's the central theme of rap-rock hybrid it's starting to get way to mixed up.

I'm feeling Jada on this, but I'm feeling Jada on most of everything these days...goes to show that his versatility currently knows no (well, at least not many) bounds. A-heh!

Not very catchy, kind of annoying...1.5, but because it's a short week, I'll be nice and give them a 2.

Looking forward to seeing Maybach Music Pt. 2 at the top of Good Friday's new hip hop songs.

I like what they're tryin to create here, but it could have been done much better. The production is a little too distorted to the point where it sounds too screechy. The hook is pretty lame, and often not on key (another thing that I think these guys could have done better.) Diddy's verse was kinda boring, but Jada kills EVERYTHING. Just OK overall.

The chorus is corny as hell and they def should not be singing. I'm feeling the rock esqe production. I just don't like Diddy's flow. He seems like his flow was only fit for the early 90's and that's it. Jadakiss surprised me being on here....maybe he's trying to go outside of his boundaries. That laugh he did could have been edited out. It sounded hella ugly on here. The only thing i like about the song is the production..maybe if this was a maroon 5 song it would have sounded much better. At least Adam Levine can sing.

Take out Chester French, change the hook and change the entire theme of the song, and you may have something. I saw them open up for Gaga a few nights ago, and they were absolutley terrible. Can't sing, can't write, can't produce, and really really can't dance.
