Cherish - Killa (So So Def Remix) ft. Jermaine Dupri & Kid Slim

Cherish
Artist:Cherish
Title:Killa (So So Def Remix) ft. Jermaine Dupri & Kid Slim
Featuring:Jermaine Dupri , Kid Slim
Producer: Jermaine Dupri
Album:The Truth
Label:Sho'nuff/Capitol

Cherish traded one heavy hitter for another in the remix to Killa, replacing Yung Joc with veteran Jermaine Dupri and So So Def newcomer The Kid Slim.  Slim gives an entertaining verse toward the end, but Dupri, who does more singing than rapping, only makes an appearance at the beginning of the song (unless you count the four words at the end).  We’ll allow him to slide since he’s the mastermind behind the remix.  The new beat has more of a Lil Jon feel than the semi-techno sound of the original, but the lyrics in the verses, chorus and bridge are all maintained.  Cherish will release their new album, The Truth, on April 29.

I like the original version A LOT better. I think this is worse than that and I wouldn't play it all the way through personally...

This is okay. Beat seems better than the original, but at the same time is annoying. I like Cherish, but this is not cutting it.

I agree with Londons Finest, the background music is that of Goodies by Ciara. Anyway this remix is WACK to me! The original song was very good and they ruined it

I remember the days (I am dating myself) when JD released a new So So Def remix every week or so? Every song --and I mean everyone's material-- was remixed So So Def style. Hell, Jessica Simpson did a redo with JD. The beat is solid here, but the girls vocals sounded better over the original.

never heard the original, but i immediately thought of Goodies like alot of others on here lol. I think the intensity dropped as soon as the ladies started singin after Dupri's verse. like they say stuff, then it's echoed, then they say 3 more words, and it's echoed... like it's just weird. plus, they look mean in their pic so no points on looks hahahahaaaa

At least this is a "true remix" and not a pseudo-remix. However, JD didn't deliver.

damn if u dont have the money to pay t-pain then dont do it......they lose mad points for that. the beat is nice, the hook is good not great. i think on the first listen u would pass on this song but it kinda grows, just not enough to give it a good rating. Just enough not to make it str8 wack, so its an ok song. 2 out of 5
