Charlie Hustle - Go Hard ft. Rebel
Artist: Charlie Hustle
Producer: Jim Beanz
Album: Untitled (TBD)
Label: SupaFli Entertainment
Though Brooklyn native/Miami resident Charlie Hustle has built up an underground reputation with his various mixtapes and his Runners-produced buzz single, Get It (featuring Rick Ross and Kevin Cossom), he hopes to make his brand-new single (and DJBooth debut) his biggest hit yet. Despite the title Go Hard, the song’s tone is more seductive than aggressive: a beautiful woman catches Hustle’s eye, and he proceeds to offer her a better life if only she stays by his side (your typical rap ballad). While Rebel holds his own on the background vocals, the highlight is indisputably Timbaland protege Jim Beanz’ work behind the boards (yes, he’s found a way to mix xylophone with brass). Still, if there’s one thing urban radio loves, it’s a rap ballad; that said, Go Hard should have no problem doing just that on the charts. Charlie Hustle’s debut album has yet to receive a title or release date.

This is coo. The beat and his flow go nice. I never heard of this dude. I'm curious on what else he can spit.
the hook is just alright. it can go in rotation. |

The beat and production sounds cheap and really generic. The hook is alright but I hate that fuzzy quality. Lyrics are decent. This is just ok

While this record might fall in line with so much of the music that is being pumped out these days, the overall result is pleasing. Beanz provides a terrific platform for Hustle and Rebel; regional radioplay looks good.
Let's hold the phone before we assume what type of rapper our friend Charlie is... |

Clean voices and sweet tunes :) I agree it's similar to stuff I've already heard before, but don't always make it bad

Same here, I don't like Charlie's flow so much. But man the production is fire and the hook is too hot...I'm sure it will be one of my new fav songs! Banger!

The production is a bit annoying, but it works pretty well with this kid's flow... It comes together for a pretty catchy song, but I'm interested to see what else Charlie is able to do on a different type of track. Once I got past the synth-beat I was noddin my head... Banger

The production starts out sounding like a nursery rhyme, which is annoying, but it has a good switch-up in the chorus. The production is actually pretty multi-fascited.
The chorus and the bridge is cool. Rebel sounds pretty good vocally - but anyone could have taken the bg vocals on this, ie Trey Songz, Bobby Valentino. But Rebel is who we were given, and I don't want to hate b/c he DOES sound good. Charlie Hustle has a good, sellable, commercial flow. Commercial gets you played, talent ensure's you stay.. It's hard to tell how real he can go, but on this its cool. I can dig it. Something for the ladies!!! |
