As Dallas prepares to host the 2010 NBA All-Star Game, hip-hop’s internet king Chamillionaire decided to show the world that, although his native H-Town’s glory days are in the rearview (for now), the state of Texas is still a force to be reckoned with. Accordingly, we’re now faced with Main Event, a Southern soaked banger that rides heavy on a synth-heavy beat by producer Chops and features rhymes from Chamillionaire (of course), Paul Wall (where’s he been?), Slim Thug (who swears like a sailor) and newcomer Dorrough (a.k.a the Ice Cream Paint Job dude). Personally speaking I can’t say that any of these emcees tear up the track, but they certainly do the Lone Star proud. So how about it Booth? Is this track a main event or merely a sideshow? You be the judge. While Main Event is only a promo single, Cham’s new album Venom is set to (very tentatively) drop on March 16. In the meantime, you know where to keep checking for the latest updates.

CHAM IS BACK. This track got me amped, its a great mixtape track.
The hook is true to Cham's life, the guy stayed on his grind even after he hit it big with Ridin.

Brave statement by d mac. I cannot say I agree. While all four emcees did what they do best (nobody turned in a weak performance), the song didn't move me. Hoping for much much more on Venom.

Not really into this one, mainly because of the production - I swear I've heard that beat (or something like it) in at least ten other places.
I'm not taking anything away from Cham, though. He's always welcome. |

Chops did good work here, as he's done in the Mixtape Messiahs. This is the closest Cham has come recently to making a club-ready single. But I don't see it going anywhere. Sigh.

I had higher hopes for this track looking who was on it. They all did there part but it just did not blow me away. Maybe I had to high of expectations going into it. Still a decent song though.

i def miss Chamillionaire, but this is mixtape potential, but not single potential...but this is cool i love his flow on this...they should have got and r$b artist on the hook and paul wall came through...and the thug hasn't disappointed me a lot...and yall need to get off Fl Studio because i drake beats were made off of Fl but nobody said shit about forever...

I havent stop coming to the booth Z -sips tea- Ive just watching from the sidelines upset with the rap game. I had to step in here for this one for the sake of that1kid13 and SBHS who I informed of the 1st wont let you down remix. as a dallas native and texas rap fanatic I have to give props to cham. leaking this track on allstar weekend and shooting the video for it at the allstar event is a smart move. this isnt a heavy concept album track its just a promo to build hype and I think it did well at that. the track didnt move me in the way I wanted, I guess I had VENOM expectations..but you got to look at it as TEXAS HYPE. the TEXAS movement is hungry DONT FIGHT THE HYPE

This will not be an official single and we all know this isn't Cham's best work...but with that being said it not a bad track at all and Cham always does good with the hooks...and Paul, Thugga, and Dorrough simply just turn in average performances at best...Chamillionaire's newest mixtape Major Pain is some real good shit so go take a listen to that!!

I don't mean to pile onto D-Mac but I'm a Cham fan, I've listened to Cham, I've written 1000 word reviews outlining how dope he is, but this is not Cham's best work. Texas is home to some dope hip-hop, but this isn't one of their best moments.

I'm with Matthew Kyle on the beat subject. I mean we went from a great hybrid track like "Good Morning" and amazing hooks like on "Won't Let You Down" (The TX Allstars mix was great.) to this generic promo with a beat that I swear I've heard before. Everyone on the track dropped well, beatsmith failed them.

Ok I'm not going to say this is Chamillionaire's best work but it makes me glad that I'm going to be doing my basic training for the Air Force in Texas cause I hope to get my hands on some underground Texas hits. Z man I usually know when cd's are coming out but if you could get me a list of cd's coming out that would be huge cause I'm not going to be able to stay up on my music in basic. So from march to end of may i'm going to be out of the loop. This song will hold me over until the album drops.

The track is dope, Chamillionaire was on point, This was one of Slim Thugga's better verses. I thought Paul Wall went A.W.O.L. from the rap game, but he is back with a decent verse. Dorrough did his thing like he normally does but I don't see this one going far.
