Realizing The Bill Collecta probably wasn’t the best choice for Chamillionaire‘s next single, the Universal execs changed their minds and switched over to Industry Groupie. Cham again describes the music industry using a metaphor; referring to it as an unfaithful girlfriend who says “she’s down” but messes with every other big name hip-hop & R&B artist in the industry. Adding catchiness is Jonathan “J.R.” Rotem’s production, which heavily samples Europe’s classic sports jam, Final Countdown. Hopefully, Industry Groupie can help liven up the slumping sales of Ultimate Victory; a solid hip-hop album.

 Good choice for a single. The lyrical concept is real creative. It kinda reminds me of what The Game did on the hook of the documentary, naming all the classic albums.

This track is aight... I'm not completely sold on him yet. It's just something in his delivery isn't quite right. When I put my finger on it, I'll let everyone know. This is a good effort and I think its a better single than the last one...
DJZ - I think he didn't do that good this time because kanye/50; plus I don't think he had enough marketing from the label either. I didn't see any advertisements for this album AND, maybe people who bought the first album didn't think he would get any better...

"Ultimate Victory" was and is, imo, the best album out for 2007. Following that I'd say "T.I. VS T.I.P.", "Graduation" & "Konvicted (Deluxe)". But "Ultimate Victory" is just amazing. And ontop of that, he doesn't swear. That's just... wow.
I think he should drop either Pimp Mode, Ultimate Vacation or Bill Collecta next. I can't decide. >_ |
