If you’ve ever been a jilted lover, a fan of A-Town funk, or just overall enjoyer of the word “f*ck”, Cee-Lo Green’s new song is right up your alley. With Mr. Green’s latest single, F*ck You, comes the most catchy and original middle finger anthem to be released in a minute, thanks in part to The Smeezingtons enjoyably whimsical production (do they ever miss?). While Cee-Lo still manages to avoid rapping here, he comes correct with his signature singing style – see previous effort Georgia - all the while lacing in humorous observations on life after a bad breakup: “I tried to tell my momma but she told me ‘this is one for your dad.” I feel a little bad for saying this, but I can only hope mainstream radio never grabs a hold of this. “Pluck You” just wouldn’t have the same magical ring to it. If you enjoyed listening to the kind of r&b/soul that would give your grandmother a heart attack, be sure to keep a lookout for Cee-Lo and his latest project, Lady Killer, which is still awaiting a release date.

 If this record had the chance to be added to radio as is - no special edits - it would be a glorious moment in music history. The idea that the expression "F*ck You" could be so warm, gentle, and downright catchy is amazing - and, up to this point, unheard of. Sadly, as we all know, that won't happen. Heck, I am not even sure the FCC would allow "F You" to be the edited title and chorus. Nontheless, radio play won't make or break Cee-Lo at this point in his career.

Wow...I did not see this coming. At all. This song is catchy, warm -- not what I expected from a title "F**k You". Cee-Lo's voice sounds good over the production. Overall a nice track. 3.5 out of 5

i love what he did with this how he made it so pleasant catchy etc. Just copy and paste what everyone said before me and add that here. I WANT this song. 5 stars. This is classic. The first to turn such vulgar words into something so positive and uptempo

6 months ago i hadnt heard of cee-lo green but after a few guest features (the other side, dr feel good) and then a couple of solos (night train, georgia), i really took notice and have enjoyed his singing talent and amazing creativity. how anyone could possibly spin a catchy, upbeat, almost nice song out of "f**k you" is beyond me, but cee-lo has done it. wow

I'll save my usual "why won't Cee-Lo rap anymore?" complaints and just stick to the positives. Lo's managed to make a phrase like "F*ck You" sound like a feel good gospel song, and the man continues to make music unlike anyone else. He and the Smeezingtons were made for each other.

The Smeezingtons are great! Way to candy-coat it. Cee-Lo can create a picture musically when he writes. This song is a great example of that. The "catchiest" song I've heard in a while.
