Though ‘09’s autumnal equinox came and went a little over three weeks ago and the air’s slowly but surely getting chillier (at least up here in Minneapolis), there’s still time to bid warm weather one last farewell. On Summer’s End, the latest official leak off Cause‘s forthcoming I Am Us mixtape, the reader-acclaimed South Bronx lyricist does just that, waxing nostalgic about what he calls “the best times in [his] life.” Cause’s wistful verses, which see him savoring vivid memories of long, lazy days spent chilling with his crew and warm, party-filled nights, are sure to leave Booth readers impressed, as is Sean Divine‘s headphone-worthy beat, which blends resonant piano chords with subtle electronic accents. As if all that weren’t enough, the artist showcases his musical versatility with a mellow, sung hook. Will this be hit number three in the hot streak Cause established with In Too Deep and In a Daze? I can’t see why not. Like the autumn leaves, I Am Us is set to drop this fall – no raking necessary, of course.

I'm feelin this. He came hrad on his verses and this song does seem like it sums up the summer and it soudns like a song of endings... (if that makes ANY sense lol)

Yet another impressive effort from Cause. Production caught my ear immediately and Cause's captivating flow held me over through the entire record. This new project is shaping up to be very impressive.

Heyyyy, this is niiiice! The summer's end is sad, but this joint still has a cool summer type of vibe while keeping it simple. There was nothing that stood out on this track, but Cause was real cool and the song was hot.

Yes, @Richard this cat has been delivering consistently and just like his last two features, this is good stuff!
I agree with @cb126405 - there was nothing that stood out on this track but that's what made this joint work, as both production and Cause's delivery mix and flow together nicely, and smooth hook rounds out the track ... Rotation-Stuff. |

This reminds of Will Smith classic grammy winning song "Summertime" but this song has its own identity and Cause makes sure of it with his proven lyrical originality
