When Cassidy released his hit single, My Drink n My 2 Step, last year, both he and his label had very high hopes for the release of his third studio album, B.A.R.S.. After the album dropped, however, only Innocent Man was released as a single and with little promotion the song failed at radio. With an elevated level of faith in his religion, which is clearly stressed throughout all of his newest records, Cassidy explains how he almost Lost It All on this new unreleased track. Rather than use his near-death and prison experiences as an excuse for lackluster emcee work, records like Lost It All showcase a sense of renewed passion for the craft. Though nothing has been confirmed by his label, J Records, Cassidy has informed DJBooth that he plans to release his fourth studio album, tentatively self-titled, before the end of this calendar year.
Amen to that write-up...how did this album get no publicity? It was sooo hot. Anyways, this song is pretty damn good also. Cass brings such a good flow to every track he hits, and I'm feelin the lyrics here, so I def will be bumping this.
I really like the production on this track. Whoever made the beat, it's really an awesome joint. I will say I heard the entire Cassidy album on the MySpace before it dropped and I really don't understand WHY it wasn't a top album. I have no idea why. But this song is really great, real deep and I respect Cassidy's newfound love to express his spirituality and relationship with Jesus. God Bless. This is real and this is hip hop. 5 stars. If anybody else got something else to say about it stupid, please expect a retort from me (just a notice ahead of time).
Cassidy's words were strong on this one. This is a really deep song no matter how much you hate this guy. This song shows Cassidy at his best. I will be defintely be waitin for his album. This is a 4.
I really just dont like Cassidy anymore... This is meh... but I dont feel the same about him. I dont like any of his songs anymore... This is ok thought
I have to listen to this again. Cassidy is a lyrisict 4 real. I have great respect for his talent, and resently even more respect 4 him as a person. He is truly showing growth in this song. The production is solid here, not memerable to me, but cool. The hook the same as well.
Confession...jehova witness session???...cmon man, dude had a tragic thing happen in his life. And he thanks God he's still living & able to bounce back.
Cas, I aint cha biggest fan, but go head son, spit that real talk.
yea agree with pretty much everything ppl said when u face when a very tragic events u change the way u look at life, anyways the albums was HOTTT though.....this beat is solid, the beat is solid, and lyrics r solid which makes a solid track, but not a heat
Unfortunately I can't understand what he's saying, that's why I sometimes rate a song with good lyrics less than it actually deserves! Anyway I'm feeling the beat and the chorus...3,5 stars
B.A.R.S. was a decent album from Cass, but it was a little preachy. This is a nice track, has some solid production and lyrically it is better than some of the cuts that were on B.A.R.S. I like the vibe. However I personally haven't liked Cassidy, he just seems like a average rapper. I know he can spit some crazy metaphors but I haven't seen that, I think its something that a lot of underground freestylers go through, which is the difference from underground and freestyles to creating an album. He really hasn't put together a solid album, his first one had two hot club joints with "Hotel" and "Get No Better" but other than that, the album was average. I'm A Hustla had a catchy album titled single and then a decent one for the streets with "B Boy Stance". B.A.R.S. had "My Drink N My Two Step" which was a decent club joint, but "Innocent Man" didn't chart well, even though it wasn't bad. Still waiting for that solid album from Cass, hopefully his next one is it.
Lol @ MichaelHannah, you are brutally funny! But you saved me a lot of time with your comments, from the first to the last one, I agree with you a 100%! Oh, and who did the chorus?! Amazing job!
this has to be the best song cassidy ever put out. i actually enjoy the beat unlike some ppl. the lyrics cassidy spits are good and real to life. the chorus is very good as well and it fits the song. cassidy put his heart and soul into this one
