You can take Carlito out of Patterson, New Jersey, but you can never take the Patterson out of Carlito. The rapper has a fierce loyalty to the Silk City (aptly named after its central role in 19th century silk production), and he’s not gonna stop rapping about it until you understand that. Got it? Backed by monstrous production from I.N.F.O. Productions, the young rapper spits about what it’s like to love a city unconditionally on the brand new Rep Yo Hood. His baritone voice is reminiscent of Jim Jones, and the yelps embellishing his verses betray that he is well aware of this fact. Rep Yo Hood will appear on his debut LP, Carlito’s Way, to be released sometime this year. Let’s just hope the LP is as good as the movie.
the beat is nice but its the same gangsta music i can get from 50 cent so i dont see much skill here, didnt really show to many mic skillz 4 me, then again it is a single so i need to hear a lil bit more but its a par 2 out of 5
This song is fire! I love the energy, i like how he switched up his flow too, the producer of the beat produces beats for dipset thats why it sounds a little bit like dipset
