The Canadian hip-hop scene has been on the rise recently, thanks in part to Toronto MCs Kardinal Offishall and Aristo. Our frozen northern neighbor is also home to hip-hop/reggae artist Carl Henry. Fresh off his successful 2006 indie album, I Wish, Henry is preparing an as-yet untitled second album. Showing off his rapping and singing skills, Henry unleashes the dance floor jam, Like You. Similar to Kardinal, Carl adds a Jamaican sound to the mix, but what makes Like You a heat seeker is the smooth organ-synth production. Destined for radio success in Canada, will Carl Henry be able to successfully cross over into the States? Stay tuned next year.
Carl Henry will without-a-doubt have success in the states. His style of music is exactly what fans are into these days: upbeat pop tracks with hip-hop influences. Does he pull off the singing/rapping talent better than Snoop?
I guess Im the only one not feeling this track, its not bad but nothing that makes me want to go out and cop a his album, guess I need to hear more from him
this guy's been doing big things up in canada for a while now. he's definitely talented and i love this track. hope the rest of the world has open arms!
This beat has been used to death it seems like...It's a very nice beat, but at least 2 artists have used nearly the same exact beat...Lyrics and singing doesn't sound really good either...
Well I don't care if this beat has been already used or not, it makes me dance! It's a type of song I would gladly hear in the club, pity that here in the clubs we dance only techno music :(
i believe that this joint is a potential club banger. The originality of the beat does matter so it might lack that. despite that this song will go places
