Though Cardan‘s been making moves as a ghostwriter (even earning the moniker “hip-hop’s Ne-Yo”) since returning from his post-Harlem World hiatus, he’s not about to spend the rest of his musical career behind the scenes—for him, the spotlight simply Feels Like Home.  With the release of documentary film A Day In The Life, the artist plans to raise his profile by offering listeners an inside look at his work with some of the game’s biggest names, and he’s included a few killer tunes in the bargain.  On the first official leak off the film’s soundtrack, Cardan stakes his claim on “stadium status,” with all the high-class luxuries and screaming fans that entails.  J Buttah delivers a driving, danceable accompaniment to the rapper’s ambitious rhymes, topping his staccato-synth instrumental off with an instantly-recognizable sample from Madonna’s ‘89 smash, Like A Prayer.  While it remains to be seen whether Cardan is truly destined for stadium-packing superstardom, this high-energy cut’s danceable vibe is sure to stir up anticipation for both the rapper’s film (coming “soon”) and the soundtrack LP (due out this fall).

You cannot go wrong with a Madonna sample... unless you try to place it on an album without a sample clearance agent and lots of money, haha. Enjoy this banger in our Booth, people - because there is a better chance that Fat Joe loses 100 lbs than Cardan's record ever getting cleared for official take off.

Speaking of which... more songs like "Feels Like Home" and Cardan's plane will be boarding!

I agree with Z, if they don't push this as a major single, it will cost more to make, than it will actually gross. With that said I think they should consider pushing this, because it can do well, Cardan's easy going vocal's mixed with the easily recognizable sample and uptempo pop club sound can have hit potential. Maybe consider adding some big name rappers to this beat and watch it soar. May be too much of a risk, but can have high reward if works.

Definitely liked the sample. This could do well in the clubs, if he releases it as a single.

I gotta give this a 2.5, cuz I felt like there was somethin missin. I liked the sample and the upbeat flow. It just felt like it lacked anything that really makes me latch onto the track.

A very strange song ... Sample is a HIT but the tempo is too fast to grasp everything... And Cardan sounds like he is out-rapping the beat, and trying too hard to spit fast... BUT then the beat had me nodding my head for the whole 3:08 ....
I had to listen to it a few times and I STILL am on the fence ... DAMN!!!

Banger. The beat was sick. Loved the synths. I'm really feelin this one. Sample was kind of weird for me though, but I'm not a big Madonna fan.

I'd absolutely love a few bars from Drake added over this; I think'd he'd be an amazing fit. For now though its a nice track but as some else said I feel we are missing an element maybe call it 'swagger' (I know a bit over-used) or call it what you will but a good feature would be a welcome addition.
