The Canz - Meet Joe Black
Artist: The Canz
Producer: Clinton Sparks
Album: Life After Graduation
Label: Unsigned
Taking a different approach from their previous feature World Famous, the Canz are back with the next leak off their Life After Graduation project. Using a Clinton Sparks-produced beat from Biggie’s Duets album (Hold Ya Head), Meet Joe Black is one of the Canz’ more somber songs as the duo creates a dark soundtrack that details a conversation with death. Using chopped and screwed vocals to represent the sound of death, the Canz go back and forth with the voice of the reaper, dropping thought provoking lines like: “But he’s only 21, a young and good nigga/in his raps, this nigga claims to be a hood nigga/ man raps is just raps/ that’s ironic because gats is just gats.” If you think this cut is heavy, you should barely be able to lift the Canz’ new Kanye and Biggie-inspired mixtape, Life After Graduation, presented by Mick Boogie, Terry Urban and DJBooth, when it’s released Wednesday, August 4.

Nothing flashy here; just two talented emcees paying homage to a legend.
I would have liked to hear the fellas alternative lines with Big (if that is possible musically), but as a whole the new "Life After Graduation" (which we will release Wednesday) will definitely spur some new Canz fans. |

First off, that Cover art is something serious. Now, this reminds me of what Hip-hop albums used to be. Having concept records. I graded it at a 5 not because its a banger but for creativity. I applaud the effort.

I like the creativity, and the album cover is really intriguing. I think the concept of the track works well, and I'm interested to hear the entire project.

I have to give huge, huge props for the concept and the creativity. One of the better rap songs featuring death - it's no Murder Was the Case, but it's up there. I'm crazy stoked to hear Life After Graduation now. The sky's now officially the limit for this project.

This is a nice change from the usual, it is definitely headphone music though. I just wish it was a bit longer.

I dont like voice distortions and choppin up this sample for this cheap track with a classic biggie verse. Nope i'm good with the original, thanks.
