The 119th entry in our DJBooth.net Freestyle Series comes courtesy of The Canz, the Ghana-bred, Georgia-based duo who recently brought us Fly Away. On their brand new, previously-unreleased It’s the Canz freestyle, brothers Prominent and Foster flow over a Reefa-produced instrumental originally featured on Fabolous’ I’m the Man. The Canz are currently busy promoting their new, Mick Boogie-presented Slow Rise mixtape, out now and available for free download at their official website.

The Canz are a classic example of artists who are also wise businessmen. They took their promotional opportunity and crafted a catchy freestyle (with a hook) which brands their name. You can come away from this thinking LOTS of different things... but you won't forget who you heard!

It's hard to pick a heavier beat than this, and the Canz deliver. From what I've heard from these guys they've got some crazy versatility, can do everything from pop to bangers. This is quality music right here (and I laughed out loud at the "sonogram" line.
