Most rappers make it their mission to “go hard,” but The Canz are a different breed; on this newly-leaked mixtape track, the Ghana-bred, Georgia-based twosome and several equally fresh cohorts venture beyond hard and go completely Bananas. Backed by the unconventionally catchy, xylophone-laced production of Kato, brothers Prominent and Foster Child drop bars packed with casually off-the-wall braggadocio. Following the headliners’ lead, 1stdown and 88 of ATL duo FKi (featured way back in Oct. ‘08 with Shopaholic (Remix)), along with Booth newcomers Young Lyxx and Niko Villamor, top the track off with punchline-laced guest verses. Those digging this ensemble cut’s unique flavor will be able to find plenty more hot beats and guest bars on Kato’s T.I.M.E. Vol. 2 mixtape; the project has yet to receive a solid release date, but fans can keep it locked to the Booth for all the latest!

The first time I listened to this joint I didn't find it to be bananas. Then I turned the volume up and blasted the ever-loving sh*t out of it... and that is when it became quite clear that, while the song is not a smashing cup of fruit salad, the beat and several of the vocal performances (The Canz, Niko) are indeed the curved yellow tree fruit.

This is not the best song I have heard from The Canz however it isn't garbage. I'll give it a 3 and a half but i cant so it's closer to a 4.

turn the beat up is what this song should be called so people get the hint and enjoy the beat and how stupid crazy it is but i feel the need for synth which will sounds awesome for awhile but then ill probably get bored of it faster then what we have now.
its hott but for some reason i feel like listening too "i make it rain"(shrugs) idk im just as confused as yall lol 3 spins this should grow on people |

This track certainly carries a lot of energy and with name like bananas one can only hope for the best. The Canz can both flow on a track and the production on this was bearable considering the name and concept of the track.
This track really failed in the overall mood that I do beleive the Canz were trying to convey. The beat is enthusiastically simple where as the overall mood of the track seems to change when the hook comes in. I do like the breakdown that occurred during the last three minutes of the track though. Solid effort. Will be on the lookout for these two, but as for the track, I would not listen to this again. |

i dont think the beat matches the rappers on this. the canz were the best but the featuring artists seemed too out of their depth.

Is it wrong that my favorite part of the song is the intro "jesus christ banana" sample? For some reason that ish cracks me up.
Anyway, the beat's obviously got some serious potential, but you'd think the collective emcees would have come with a little more energy to match the theme. They still lay it down, but they fell just short of banger. First Pete Sampras diss in hip-hop history? What you gonna do about it Pete? What!?

@Nathan S: My thoughts exactly...
I hear Bananas I hear Gwen Steffani. For the The Canz's Bananas, the intro is the only part of the song that stuck with me until the end. I understand that beat wasn't crazy fast but their paces of delivery were one level of energy down from what I think it should have been. I was waiting for them to execute their message in the hook but I felt like they kept it Boring and not Bananas. Hoping that The Canz would change my imbedded feelings about Down South Music, I thought the track to be uninteresting and unworthy of another play. |

They lack the swag to carry this production, sorry but, slow yourself down and be confident in your wordplay, or speed it up and make the track yours. These guys are right in the middle and sounds a little off.
