Camp Lo is back with a new name and record label. Signed to SRC Records via Universal Motown, Sonny Cheeba and Gucci Suede now go by the alias The Lo and are set to release their fourth album (the third to be named after a Bill Cosby/Sidney Poitier film pairing), A Piece of the Action. Their new buzz single, On Smash, places the duo alongside two of NYC’s most critically-lauded emcees, boasting accompanying guest verses from Pete Rock (best known for his work with CL Smooth – remember T.R.O.Y.?) and Styles P. A Piece of the Action won’t hit store shelves till next spring, but fans should stay on the lookout for DJBooth’s exclusive interview with The Lo in February.

HAHAHA Camp Lo is back!!!! Man I've been waiting for this. It's not the same as Luchini pourin from the sky, but they still gettin rich w/ the cheeky vines and sugar dimes haha. I just hope they don't get too corny with this fusion of hip hop and pop. ugh...

The beat kinda got a scott storch feel to it. I haven't heard Styles P on anything since Akon's Locked Up remix but this is pretty nice!

The beat reminds me a little bit of 50 Cent's "Candy Shop". It goes hard though. I can really rock with this. I know a lot of other won't feel it...but this is off chains. The hook is on point. I really love the mix too. The Ghost smashed this with that classic flow. Absolute banger.

Yea this does have a Candy shop 50 vibe to it. Styles sounds comfortable on this. I'm not really big on the beat here, kinda bland. That menamenameeeeeeenaaaaa thing is not doin it for me.

Diddy + Nas = whichever one is on the right in that pic. I agree with BDF on Styles P. The beat is really kinda boring, I think Pete Rock should've handle that. Then just have the rest fix up their flow and damn, it's set. The memememeememememmeme is just retarded. Need to listen to some Mecca and the Soulbrother now, or "The World Is Yours".

I hate that word they repeat in the hook mimi mimi (I don't understand sorry) but the beat is just bangin! It reminds me of 50 Cent's A Little Beat (michaelhannah Candy Shop or A Little Bit? To me it's more like A Little Bit). After a while they get annoying but the beat is too cool not to dance to it ;)

That's one hard bass drum. But I wasn't expecting something like this from Camp Lo at all. They have regressed.

Lol Patty, I’m positive MH definitely meant “A little bit”! But unfortunately the repeating arabic sound on this doesn’t have the catchy-factor Scott Storch pulled off years ago, it’s actually ANNOYING! Chorus is so uninspired! WTF?!? Miniminiminiminimini?!? Soulja boy must have written that! It’s not even the repeating thing that’s wrong: it’s how tasteless it’s said. It’s a shame it got these negative aspects, cuz the rapping was good, and it’s always nice to hear Styles P…
