If there’s one duo I’d like to hear rap about the ‘70s porn industry, it’s Camp Lo. Thus, it came as something of a disappointment to learn that Boogie Nights, the final leak off the twosome’s new EP, has absolutely nothing to do with the film starring Mark Wahlberg (or the disco track the movie took its title from). Despite that minor letdown, though, this track has just about everything fans of the Bronx vets could ask for. Backed by longtime collaborator Ski‘s silky-smooth boardwork, featuring a Chipmunk-pitched sample of Janet Jackson‘s ‘93 smash, Any Time, Any Where, Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede get down to business, delivering nostalgic bars brimming with characteristically allusive, ear-catching turns of phrase (“Two Spinderellas, Michelle my belle, rode the carousel back in Barcelona…”) If this chilled-out track leaves you craving more from Stone, Rob, and Ski, you’re in luck – Another Heist, Camp Lo’s first non-mixtape release since ‘07’s Black Hollywood, dropped today and is available now in stores and online.
