Upon first glance, Jamaican singer Camar might seem like a replica of other Caribbean crooners like Sean Kingston. Actually, Camar brings a refreshing, new perspective to urban music with his upcoming Slip-N-Slide Records debut. On his first single, She Loves the Flava, the singer’s found an attractive girl on the dance floor that he’s just got to have. She loves his moves and everything he’s about, that distinctive Jamaican “flava” that sets him apart from the other guys. Camar’s hypnotic vocals are featured over thumping synths that tap out an island groove with an urban tinge, courtesy of producers Nathan Cowan and Troy Stanley. Will America embrace Camar’s new genre of Yard Soul and Love the Flava? Watch for his album, due to drop in 2009, to find out.
I am definitely spinning this track. It will drop hard in the club like thunder and lightning. With all that said, this is your typical dance track--nothing more, nothing less. We need more reggae on the booth.
Hey Jes, we definitely need more Reggae on the booth. We are looking for someone to help us that knows the genre real well and can recognize whats hot and what is going to be hot. If you know someone, hit me up - dave [at] djbooth.net
Oh and Dave Macli you ask a question on what they should do more here and I want this site to do is post up every song. Heres three songs that I liked this here by big artists you did not have on here. Go On Girl Ne-Yo Rock Wit U Janet Jackson I Know Jay-Z again I dont understand why those songs werent on here to me there good and you also forgot Homecoming Kanye West another song I kind of like. So again can you please post up every Hip Hop and RnB track on here so I know about everything.
This is straight. I like the beat. YOu don't here a lot of good dancehall like 5-10 years ago. I don't agree with the comparison to Sean Kingston at all. Camar sounds like he could actually be from Jamaica.
