The subject of today’s lecture, which comes courtesy of first-time featurees Cali Swag District and a few high-profile guest lecturers, is “Dougie-ing” - which, according to my research, is a dance hailing from Dallas and inspired at least in part by Doug E. Fresh. I had to look that up myself because, to keep it one-hundred, this newly-released remix of single Teach Me How to Dougie is about as informative as Audio Push‘s similarly-themed Teach Me How to Jerk – that is to say, not very. What it lacks in educational value, though, it makes up for in banging production (courtesy of Star) and club-ready rhymes. In addition to bars by group members Jay Are, C Smoove, Yung and MBone, this version of the cut features guest contributions from Sean Kingston and B.o.B, the latter of whom knocks his verse out of the park with some flawlessly acrobatic flows. Think these swagger-laden Californians sound like a winning team? Then you’ll want to keep it locked for further details on their forthcoming full-length, which has yet to receive either a title or a release date.

I tried to like the original version - I was told by plenty of friends that it was really poppin' - but I simply could not no matter how hard I tried. Truth be told, if B.o.B didn't absolutely smash his guest 16 on the back end, I am afraid this record probably wouldn't have gotten any shine on our homepage. Like Richard, I guess today is all about keepin' it one-hundred.

This beat is so hot I wish it would have been dedicated to a song with a little more substance.
While lyrically this is above the original and of course B.O.B. killed it, the song itself is just weak. The beat is just so damn hot though |

yo yo yo... its been said on bout every post so far, but B.o.B. was on anotha level here. in addition, the beat is so so hard. everyone else was decent i guess, except for the whole Dougie dance theme, which i couldnt care less to see or learn right now. but, im not gunna lie or hate im really feelin this song.

I'm listening to the remix with the video made for it with JD, B.o.B, Red Cafe & Bow Wow...its much better than this one
For some reason this record reminds me of when Clipse came out with the Grindin Remix and when Dem Franchize Boyz came out with They Like Me remix....all three songs had an impact just as big, if not bigger than the original This record is hot, its not hard to see why its found such success....B.o.B kills this sh#*!!! 4 stars lets see if Cali Swag District can make something out of this 15 minutes of fame |
