It would be hard to call an emcee with as much experience as Butta Verses a newcomer to the game. Despite being featured on SNL, working with De La Soul and performing alongside the Wu Tang Clan, however, his identity is still on the come up. So, let’s settle for the title, tireless underground veteran. On If I Die, the Fort Lauderdale resident (via The Bronx) asks for forgiveness for any wrongdoings and wants to express these feelings before he is an under-the-ground artist. Producer Mighty V.I.C. (not the Get Silly cat) provides a piano-laden production with soul stirring sample from the late Marvin Gaye. Butta Verses is set to release his first official studio album, Reality BV, this September.
Hey, this guy is refreshingly fresh. I love the production and crystal clear drum kit from Mighty V.I.C. The sample is really ill. I like this a lot. Finally, something original and interesting in the Booth tonight.
This is mad souful. The sample of marvin is great. The concept is really refreshing. The hook sounds like somethin the mighty mos would sing. This is a really dope song.
Shouts out to BH and Butta for sending this to the Booth! Butta has the talents to remain anonymous for most, no more. Continue to grind, homie... this is a great step in the right direction!
Butta Verse's flow is boring to me, it never changes. But I'm feeling the beat, the music and the chorus! it's not a song I would download (for the fact it isn't a club song)but if I find it on the radio, I gladly listen to it...it's very relaxing, something different
