For years, quality hip-hop music has been described using the word “fire.” The legendary Busta Rhymes, however, has always taken this concept to a whole different level. A brief glance at Rhymes’ catalog and you’ll notice three heat-related titles, one album cover engulfed in flames (E.L.E.), and a plethora of songs, like Fire, You Can’t Hold the Torch, and Hot Sh*t Makin’ Ya Bounce, which allude to his obsession with one of the four elements. Adding a new notch to his flaming belt is the Don Cannon-produced Light Up A Fire, which tentatively is scheduled to appear on the New York native’s forthcoming release, B.O.M.B.. For more Busta Bus, listen and look for his new radio single, Arab Money, impacting at radio stations nationwide next week.
Usually I like Busta but this aint him at the best. The only thing I really like is Don Cannon's production. I always like listening to Don Cannon's song but this is the first song I've heard produced by him that flopped. This is alright though but I cant listen to this more than a few times. 2 stars
What's up with Busta lately ya'll? Everything he has put out lately has been below average to me, I was really looking forward to his new material but damn, it's like he's trying too hard or something. I will admit, Arab Money is decent, but still nothing close to the typical Busta we're used to hearing. Dude has just gotta be himself and come hard, the production is annoying to me too. Good thing this isn't going to the radio, I think it should be left off the album too. Yikes.
I officially give up hope on Busta Rhymes. This is a sad day. No further comments. (*Going to bump "What's the Scenario" from Leaders of the New School in solitary)
really not that bad. bump it a couple of times and gets kinda catchy. flow is repetive. listen to it more than once to get the song. busta is okay on this one.
I see what they are trying to do with the beat, but I don't think it really works for Busta's style. He needs a Harder (more full sounding) beat. He has super-sick skill and this beat just doesn't allow him to shine through good enough. Busta still Kills it, but nowadays, I am looking for complete package songs with a good beat, chorus, and verses, and the beat along with the chorus are seriously lacking here! This is actually one of the worst songs I have heard from him in a WHILE!
Beat isn't bad, but I'm waiting for a tempo change that never comes. I can't blame Busta, he put out to fire singles with linkin park and the dope don't touch me remix with Nas, Kane, Wanye and Game. Neither track created buzz so he had to do something different.
Busta needs to head back to his routes and get production from some of his old freinds (Swizzy & The Neptunes) or at least get some bigger name producers to give him some beats that he can kill, this beat just aint it. Im a big busta fan (well i was), hopefully he can figure out what his problem is quickly so he can fix it, before its to late. Busta 3/5, Beat 2/5
Yeah BaBii Boi the beat is good...but that's all! I'm not feeling the music and I have never liked Busta Rhymes...I don't like his style and his flow! OK
