As anticipation grows for Busta Rhymes‘s eighth studio album, Blessed (currently with no set release date), the rapper has found himself in the news for a reason unrelated to the impending release. Several hip-hop news sites have reported that Busta supposedly was dropped by Interscope, and that Blessed will be released solely on Flipmode/Aftermath. Whether or not these rumors are true, Busta has kept himself busy by promoting the album and presenting the Booth with a brand new feature. Igniting his inner lyrical firepower, Rhymes wants to get one point across: I Got Bass. That might be the only aspect of the song listeners remember, thanks to A Milli producer Bangladesh‘s loud, synth-heavy beat. Stay tuned for more information as it is acquired from our inside label sources…
Note: The streaming of “I Got Bass” has temporarily been suspended.
Bangladesh is good for givein us beats that on first listen are annoying as hell then later somehow become ya favorite! I think this is somethin like that. Right Now, Like Right right now, this song is annoying as hell, but tomarrow I will love it! No doubt!
i heard that Jimmy Iovine didnt like the album that busta presented him and busta didnt agree with him, so now busta rhyme has no release date, wtf thats BS, there is alot of busta fans who were waitin for his new album...anyways this song is nothin special, but i really hope they work somethin out so they can release his album BLESSED
I don't blame Jimmy Iovine. I had a feeling that this album was not going to be classic or even remotely good. Aside from the LP collab, that LP basically carried, and the remix to "Don't Touch Me", he hasn't been coming hard. I think he needs to go back to the drawing board.
At first when I heard this it sounded so annoying. The synth background sounds like some insect buzzing around. After I listened to it I got over it and Busta was good. Gotta give it a 4.
I can honestly say, top 5 worst songs Ive ever heard on DJBooth, and definetly worst song Ive ever heard from Busta Rhymes, who I consider a still heavyweight in
the game. Judging by the material for this new album, however, I can predict a huge dropoff for him. This is one of the most annoying beats and flows that Ive ever listened to, its like A Milli on drugs. Bangladesh definetly tried the same formula for this one and failed miserably. Please, please be a throwaway track. Wow.
This beat is simple but official at the same time. Busta was just hit 'em wit bars. "Sound like a thousand mosquitos like, ummm ummmm ummmm" That dude is crazy.
3.5
Busta has ALWAYS been experimental with his music. Pull out anything from his monster catalog and that is clear. This is way out there... but that's what people said about "A Milli" right when we featured that. I don't know if time or spins would help this one, but it isn't a single. So no worries my friends...
I only like "We Made It", which LP and Mike Shinoda totally carried, and then the remix to Don't Touch Me. Anything else is 50 Cent's old rap name....Boo Boo.
I think if everyone listened to this song with their eyes closed and just lost themselves in the track they would see that Busta Freakin KILLED this!!!! This beat is HARD!!!!! I am really feeling this...I'm sorry everyone, but this is a CERTIFIED DJ BLAZE BANGER!!! Damn, the flow is off the CHAINS!!!
You guys obviously can't appreciate this song for what it's worth. Got system? lol
Bangladesh always had beats way before a millie and I love the synths.
Busta's lyrics are on point this could be HIS "a milli" if you get the point.
ok it's my second time listening to it (w/ a sub woofer instead of headphone) and i'm bouncing around like a idiot. every line is DOPE.. and it's up to PAR
Damnnnnn, so close to being a classic but there's just too many things about it that annoy me. 3 stars for the beat and chorus. Sick beat, no denying that.
