Discussing artists’ rapping styles, Chamillionaire offered the following insight during the first portion of his new two-part interview feature at the Booth: “[if] you put a beat in front of me, and you told me [the] artist; I could tell you what pattern they’re gonna rap in.” If you like how an artist approaches their material, though, you might not want them to change it up – right? Just ask longtime fans of Busta Rhymes, who since leaving his one-and-done stint at Aftermath/Interscope has alternated between his characteristically hyper-speed flow (adored by millions around the world) and dragged-out Shawty-Lo-esque muttering (as Borat would say, “not so much”). Rest assured those who have grown to enjoy the former will thoroughly appreciate Blown, a new offering from Rhymes featuring accompaniment from T-Pain and DJ Khaled and production by Cool & Dre.

Cool & Dre bring that fire with this production and Busta keeps up with no problems to the up tempo beat. T-Pain also blended well with this beat. But Busta goes off on this and thats what makes this a true banger.

Im with Milrookie on this one the Intro was hella long over a minute, i dont no if the beat was the best choice for busta to go over, but god d*mn did busta rip it he must have gills cause that man dont take no breaths haha. 2 stars cause i wouldnt play it again i would give busta 5 stars tho if i could rate just him.

The introduction with T.Pain was horrible. DJ Khaled came correct on this with some actual knowledge! When the beat came in, the track got real hot! Cool and Dre did they thing. The hook is okay with Teddy, but it's not catchy enough in my opinion. BUSTA ATE THIS JOINT FOR LUNCH THOUGH! Flow pace is just illy. He rides the beat so ill! I really wish the hook was better and maybe had some more change ups in the productions on the hook. By the time I got to the hook the third time, it had grown on me. The acapella parts on the third verse was EPIC! Busta the beat is back! 4 stars easy. I still feel a little something was missing though. IDK...maybe something more from Cool & Dre would have set it off.

Cool & Dre go hard on the beat, i'm almost sure they worked on it together with The Runners. T-Pain aiit on the hook, he's beginning to sound a bit generic though, + it aint so catchy. I dont know, maybe after a couple more listens. Busta really shows why he's still a big name after all these years. The intro is a bit long...

I honestly don't like this song so much! The beat is ok but not that all to me. Busta sounds as always. He's good for sure, I wouldn't be able to rap like him (well I'm not able to rap at all but what I mean is that his flow is particularly difficult for me to imitate), almost not breathing u know, but I don't like listening to his flow. T-Pain is getting me sick with his autotune and not only, the hook is decent but not amazing. OK

he's gone completely commercial. however, the song is still enjoyable overall, but i can't stand t pain anymore... if he's a true singer maybe he should give up that damn autotune... 3,5 stars. |

Khaled didn't yell which is kwl but his intro wasn't right for the track; it would be better on a memorial track if sum1 died IMO! Busta ripped it, Tpain was his usual didn't mind it but the song would've been better off w/ a Trey Songz, Mario, Sammie any1 - including Busta' himself (No autotune)! Busta shredded did on da beat drops, and all around except for allowing Tpain on 'ere.
Last thing I have to say is even adding sum1 else wouldn't make this a 5 I think it is the tempo of this Cool n Dre beat but ima jus chill bcuz I am not sure. |
