When Sugar Hill Gang‘s Rapper’s Delight became the first nationwide hip-hop hit back in 1979, many viewed the sensation as a novelty that would die a quick death. Much to their surprise (and our delight), hip-hop has thrived ever since and is arguably one of the world’s most popular genres. Highlighting just how far We Made It, legendary MC Busta Rhymes has teamed up with veteran rock group Linkin Park for what is likely the biggest collaboration thus far of ‘08. Like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, Busta’s two verses fit perfectly with singer Chester Bennington’s chorus, Mike Shinoda’s middle verse, and Brad Delson’s guitar (all over a beat by the super-trio of Shinoda and Cool & Dre). We Made It is the first official single from Busta Rhymes’ eighth album, Blessed, set for retail and online release July 15.

This song is amazing! I’m a huge LP fan, I’m proud I don’t listen only to hiphop music and londons finest, if the chorus is gay, then gay people been listenin to better songs than us. This is not a party track and it’s not meant to be, it has an epic feel and some straight musical content! Busta is one of the best rappers ever, his flow was fresh on this, Shinoda is better than the average rapper in hiphop (listen Fort Minor’s album and you’ll know wassup) and my man Brad was amazing on the guitar as usual. What’s the big deal (mmore, donjonjon)? Come on! Open your mind and don’t be biased. This is music!

A powerfully enraging effort by Busta & Linkin Park. You really gotta feel it in Brad's guitars, Chester's vocals, Mike's verse and Busta's reassurance in hip hop. I think this is the song that's gonna "resurrect" the hip hop genre, period. Trivia: Busta has collaborated with rock artists before: Ozzy Osbourne on "This Means War!" and Lenny Kravitz on "Make Noise." Not only is this his third rock/rap effort in his discography, it is his first rock/rap song to be made a single.

Sorry FredRico, but I was with DJJ on this song. It wasn't the rap/rock mix that I was hatin' on, it was more about Chester the child molester singing the hook. That just ruined the song for me. Busta and Mike's verses were on point, and the song did have an "epic" feel to it, but somethin' about it just didn't click for me.

I'm a big busta fan but, I dont really like this it just seems so commercial or something, Its like a commercial for toyota or Hyundai or somefin, anyhow, its not terrible but just not that hot, the Park was okay on this along with Busta but it wasn't that good
