Didn’t get enough sugar on Valentine’s Day (or, for my fellow singletons, the post-Valentine’s candy clearances)? Bueno‘s got you covered. The up-and-coming emcee’s first Booth feature is as sweet as a whole damn box of drugstore chocolates – and considerably less fattening. Newly-released promo cut Dat Good epitomizes “bubblegum-pop,” with The Stereotypes serving up an addictive blend of minimal percussion and arpeggiated synths as the Sacramento native showers his girl with colorful compliments. Sugary metaphors dominate (“You know I’m a fiend for that peaches and cream.”), but Bueno doesn’t hesitate to veer off-topic for a choice line like, “We’re like copilots; we fly together.” In addition to contributing a smooth chorus, Harlem Boy Lil Eddie takes center stage on the heavily-AutoTuned closing verse, snacking on cookies, gum and other sweets as he asks a special shawty to be his “flavor of the month.” So readers, does Bueno live up to his stage name? If you think he really is Dat Good, keep it locked – though this joint isn’t attached to any forthcoming project, we’ll be sure to bring you all the latest from this pop-savvy Californian.

"Dat Good" is "Dat Okay, Not Bad." Bueno's rhymes and flow are marginal, but the song is carried by a catchy hook from Lil Eddie, who after all these years isn't really Lil Eddie anymore, and radio ready production from on-the-rise production team The Stereotypes.

I love this production, Bueno just sounds like another generic hood rapper though.

I've got absolutely nothing against this, but I have to be honest, it feels planned to me. Like they went into the studio, sat down and planned out everything that makes a "hit" and then tried to do it.
This might just hit, and if it does props to me, but personally I want something that sounds a little more natural. |

I like these types of songs, nice, easy going vibe to it. No need to break this track down and grade the vocals/rap/beat, just turn it on and let it play in the background.
I mean you could analyse it, but that'll just make you disappointed about this track. If you first heard it in the background of a backyard bbq, your ears would pop up and you'd wonder who made this track... |
