When Bubba Sparxxx burst onto the hip-hop scene in ’01, folks quickly labeled him as the countrified second coming of Eminem. However, when his highly-anticipated sophomore album, Deliverance, dropped in ’03, it faced a cold reception from consumers. As it turned out (and I’ll try to say this in as PC a way as possible), rap fans just weren’t interested in a white version of Eminem. Thus, he went back to the drawing board and successfully reinvented himself as a mainstream rapper with Ms. New Booty. She Got Me Like (Ahh Sh*t) is the next logical step in the Georgia artist’s carefully A&R-calculated career. Producer Poli Paul contributes a club-ready beat, while guest Ray JAhh Sh*ts all over the admittedly catchy hook. If you dig Sparxxx’s new booty rap mentality, you’ll likely love She Got Me Like (Ahh Sh*t). The track will appear on his 4th LP, The Impolite Gentleman, due in January.
Really feelin the production, a different look for Bubba Sparxxx. He's either a hit or miss to me, but I think this song is fresh. Ray J shines on the chorus which really makes the song worth listening to, although the AHHH SH*T thing is kind of weird. This one will get the same type of reaction as "Ms New Booty" did. He's got a hit right here.
It kills me as a fan of the old Bubba Sparxxx to see him make music like this. Deliverance is one of the top 10 albums EVER to come out of the South but with no mainstream hits it flopped, forcing Bubba to become the chart-hungry wankster we see now. For those who have never heard Deliverance, I couldn't recommend it higher. Amazing lyrics, Timbaland production, and an overall fantastic album. The new Bubba isn't bad but I can't believe he threw out his lyrical genius for a few catchy beats and guest features. Listen to "Back In The Mud" if you want to hear the true Bubba.
DAYM dont u guys ever take a day off?? Its Labor Day, wasnt expecting any songs but a nice surprise haha. As for the song, not what i was expecting but still not bad at all
Jaff92, I agree completely. Bubba really sold out man. He sold out with that "New Booty" trash. I mean, it charted and what not, but I agree...if you heard his original stuff, it was so eclectic. "I've been travelin for some time,
with my fishin' pole and my bottle of shine! On these long dark dusty roads, lookin there's nowhere to go
I guess I gotta hide away, far away, cause I gotta find a way, to find my way
I gotta hide away, far away
Cause I gotta find a way, to find my way
Ay-ay-ay ay-ay-ay aaay!". This commercial Bubba just isn't cutting it for me. As for Ray J, he's cool, but on these hooks, he's become generic as well.
Decent track but I still think Bubba sold his soul after the failure as far as sales on deliverance...he just doesn't make real songs anymore he makes typical commercial club songs...no more punchlines or stories...but anyways ray-j holds is down and the beat is coo...better than ms. new booty to me...
Bubba did his thing. I'll says its a 180 from what I was expecting, not a full 360. I'm feeling this and this will definitely be in my rotation. Da beat goes hard, I'm really feelin it.
I have always been a fan of Bubba, but unlike the majority of the public I was feeling that Deliverance album! That was Bubba's best piece of work to date and this does not even land in the same ballpark. With that said, it is MAD catchy. Don't hate, it has radio success written all over it.
I can almost guarantee that half the people that rate these songs a 1 is because they want some recognition from other people who think its trash, not gonna happen, Z your on the dot, this song is SO catchy, it'll get radio play and i can already see people downloading this, and i can guarantee this chorus will be one for people to say randomly lol.
This record is a smash! Worked for me all weekend at my spots. Gonna be a huge hit. All you cats that say Bubba lost it or cant rap, you must have not heard his last album. Get past "New Booty"(commercial single= got to make $, get shows, sell ringtones, etc.). Listen to "Represent", "The Other Side", even "Run Away" was brilliantly delivered. Bubba is a great lyracist that isn't given his credit because he doesn't whore himself out to mixtapes and re-mixes.
