Just about every modern-day urban producer has tried to record solo material of their own.  Some projects have produced successful results (Lil’ Jon, Kanye, Pharrell, Timbo), while other projects can’t say the same (Swizzy, Mannie Fresh).  Stepping up for the R&B producers is Bryan-Michael Cox, who tells the all-too familiar story of a man who’s been with oh-so-many women before finding Mrs. Right.  Eager to retire from his playa’ days, Cox musters the overused (but always successful) line: “All I Want Is You.”  While listeners will no doubt be wowed by Cox’s singing skill, his slowed-down then sped-up production style is what the industry has come to love from this musical master.  Cox plans to release the first installment of his The Beautiful Life According to the Words and Sounds of BMC later this year.

Hey! This is the dude from Making the Band! He works with Bad Boy artists and writes mad songs! I knew he looked familiar! Well that explains why this song sounds like a 112 production. But I kinda like it. I think something is missing from making it a hit. Not sure what though. I think the beat could use some work maybe.

DJ BLAZE I gotta agree there is something missing, or something needed to be taken out like the chorus is horrible, cant realy say the beat cause like you said sounds like typical 112 and there beats werent to much more complicated or better arranged on alot of their songs but they made the track hot....I dunno what it is....

I think the beat is pretty hot, the song itself was a let down though. The lyrics were far to uninspiring and 'unoriginal' to yield anything fresh. But you guys are right, it's missing something to make it anything close to a hit... possibly using another artist??

As Rock City explained during their interview 2 weeks ago, some artists write material that simply sounds better when performed by others. Bryan-Michael has a nice voice, but I could think of 4 artists who could have kilt this song. On the flip side, considering he does it all himself, not a bad effort at all.

I think he needs to keep to writing materials for other artist. I give him credit for the lyrics and production. He needs to let Joe or Usher remake this track.

For a producer's track, its hot I'd say. BMC is well respected and he writes killer songs, the hook and beat I like, but as others said some of the artists he works with could have killed it, but I can't blame him for wanting to get some credit for his talent.

I feel what you’re saying about the song missing something to be a hit, but make no mistake, it lacks NOTHING to be a good song. What I mean is, today, you gotta have some kind of a trick to make people listen to your music (a hit), and most of the time it is: empty but catchy lyrics (I love having sex but I’d rather get some head…), overproduction (Justin Timberlake), using of the auto-tune effect (often mis-cited as a vocoder effect… hello T-Pain) in singing, choreography/dancing appeal (SouljaBoy), etc... It’s not the case here, but the melody is simple yet beautiful and fresh (I don’t think the chorus was bad at all! I like the effects on the beat when he repeats the “yous”), lyrics are just realistic and straight to the point, guy can sing with his own voice, production is smooth and relaxing. Actually this is a very easy to listen song, so it should be at least in rotation... it sets the perfect mood for the Valentine’s day coming. (PS: Don’t get me wrong; except for SouljaBoy, I also listen and do like all the other artists… it’s just sad that PEOPLE DON'T APPRECIATE MUSIC at its pure form ANYMORE).

I have to agree. There is something holding this back. I still think with a couple spins, it could do something. I would recommend it to my program director.

The beat is hot!! He sound like he was bored when he sang this. There is no depth to his singing on the track. I think Usher would have ripped this beat.

Pretty decent song! It's good when I hear songs which are sung and not rapped...I'm not so fond of only-rapped tracks!
