Uplifting rhymesayer Brother Ali releases his newest video for Only Life I Know, a feature cut off his fifth studio album, Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color. Holding an instrumental (pun intended) role in the project is legendary producer Jake One, who not only crafted this beat but devoted his efforts to the remaining 15 tracks on the project. Calling it as he sees it, Brother Ali lyrically sheds light on the only life he, and so many others, will ever know. He states that the options many children face an uphill battle to find a better life growing up in a world of disparity and hardship, preaching, “Who decided you don’t got enough to teach children, stay spending billions on stadiums and prisons.” For more enlightened hip-hop, be sure to cop Mourning in America this coming Tuesday, September 18. So @*#$! hyped for this album as I would be for any Brother Ali project, but this time I'm excited to see how him and Jake One pair up. From what I've seen so far it's gonna be Legend- wait for it -dary.
