Brooklyn Academy - Hide ft. Fresh Jones & Keith Murray
Artist: Brooklyn Academy
Featuring: Keith Murray
Producer: Illmind
Album: Bored of Education
Label: Gold Dust
If kids today are Bored of Education, tell them to check out the moving rhymes of underground rap group Brooklyn Academy. The whimsically-named emcees of B.A.—Block McCloud, Mr. Metaphor, and Pumpkinhead— delve deep into the problems of Brooklyn’s streets on their new single, Hide. Producer Illmind provides a dreamy soul sample with honey-thick vocals, adding gravity to the already-heavy subject matter. Accompanying the B.A. rappers are guest emcees Keith Murray, who swings by to commiserate about the drugs and guns that litter the streets, and Fresh Jones, who also drops a few bars about the difficulty of living in such a place. In Brooklyn, B.A. recommends that one Hide from all the terrors that haunt the ghetto, but we suggest you don’t hide from Bored of Education, out now.

I really dig their album title. That's really creative. This is some eclectic music. A lot of mainstream heads and rookie urban music listeners won't dig this because it doesn't obtain that pop music format quality. The production is semi-dark and the subject content and singing vocals are slightly dirty and gritty. I really like it. It leaves an eerie impression in a mysterious sense. I'll throw this in rotation and look for more from Brooklyn Academy in the future. If this is where hip hop and Urban music is headed towards, I'm excited. There is hope for us yet!

I dig that title to, and can relate. lol Still kiddys stay in school, if you don't you'll wish you did. Off the soap box onto the song. I gotta say, their last song was not good. This one is strong though. Gritty NY type production. Drunken type Hook. AND THE MOST BEAUTIFULLEST ONE Keith Murry. This is one to play 4 sure.

Smooth production and good flows, by the man and also by the woman, who has a rather scratched voice! It's not stuff for me, though...too slow! Nevertheless I recognise this is undoubtly an high-quality production

This is the illist (no pun intended) song off of B.A.'s new album - IN STORES NOW, PLUG PLUG. Production is great and the guest work is very well thought-out. Def Squad in the hizzy! Nice work, gents.
