Though the hip-hop industry focuses its scouting on major metropolises, R&B tends to be more accepting of those from smaller cities – how many of you had even heard of Petersburg or Tappahannock, Va. before Trey Songz and Chris Brown hit the scene? Today, another unsigned talent from the DMV area makes his Booth debut. On his latest single, the Aberdeen, Md. singer apologizes to his girl for running around with other women, hoping they can “...take another shot at This Love.” Along for the apology is Maino, who brings a little big-name buzz to the record, delivering a guest verse on the back end. Whether or not Gibbs manages to get his relationship back on track, this single’s hit potential is sure to attract industry attention – it may even spark a bidding war!

This track allowed me to hear the potential in Mr. Gibbs. Having only heard this one song, its clear he is talented (produced the record, too). Hopefully, this is the first of many Booth features in the future.

Talented dude, production was better than the vocals on here, I thought his voice sounded a little immature and weak on here. Maino was pretty good. Catchy @$$ chorus though, completely saved the track in my opinion.

Not really felling this... sounds like Chris Brown's younger less talented brother. Not terrible but not real good either.

This overall song is made/saved by the beat and hook. I hate to say it, but several singers could have murked/sounded right at home over this work. As for Gibbs, I hope this get him some spins at Radio cos overall this has a decent summer jam feel. Maino plays his part well over this beat, he is learning the craft of commercial appeal ... 2.5

The chorus is okay, his voice is pretty high pitched though. I am glad they brought a rapper like Maino on this song. I guess this is a good start for Gibbs. Everyone has to start somewhere, and he has a chance to get there eventually. 2.5 stars thanks to Maino and the chorus.
