After Monica’s new album was set out into the world it was time for her It All Belongs to Me co-star and fellow R&B superstar Brandy to truly make her mark on 2012. And what better way to get the spotlighting swinging back in your direction than recruiting a heavyweight roster of assistance on new single Put It Down? Bangladesh and Sean Garrett join forces on the production, with Garrett’s more romantically inclined style perfectly balancing Bangladesh’s more, well, banging tendencies. And then as if that wasn’t enough, Chris Brown goes into rapper mode to deliver yet another braggadocios guest verse. For her part Brandy swaggers like we haven’t heard her swagger before, matching the beats boldness with smooth yet forceful lines. (We’re a long way from I Wanna Be Down.) So how about it DJBooth Nation? Will Put It Down and its new visuals be just the thing Brandy needs to help make the release of her upcoming Two Eleven album a huge success when it drops this later this year? This isn't the Brandy that I like, or the Brandy that I am used to hearing, but damn this is a hot record. I'd rather hear her (and Brown) sing than rap, but this record is the reason its impossible to stop using the word swagger.

C'mon yall! You know damn well Brandy wouldn't have made ANY impact coming out with her FIRST single in years as a slow, lovey-dovey ballad. It's 2012. She had to reach out to the current generation. Take this song for what it is...something to stir things up. It's all a set-up to the album. It leaves you wanting more from her which is a mission accomplished to me.

I actually love this record, i'm so glad Brandy finally released a song. I've been waiting so long for her comeback and now that she's back I can't wait for the album to drop. I was so excited to see Brandy and Monica re-enter the industry together with another smash collabo. LEGGO BRANDY!!!!!!

Love Brandy. Def not the soulful vocals we are used to hearing but dope song. Perfect for summer. I love that she is trying to go in a new direction but I hope we can also get some old school Brandy that we all love on the album as well.

I'm in love with the song. I'm a little biased towards Brandy but She is killing it on this song. And she on does a LITTLE bit of what u guys are calling raping on here. She went straight back into singing and she still put her sickening runs all over the song.

I think that Brandy's new single rocks! It is a blend of rhythms and R & B Hip-hop well orchestrated. And besides her voice is beautifully hand over it. The sound is so cool. I love that song "Put It Down". Chris Brown is flawless in this song. Yeah Brandy!! I can't wait for the official release of the single and the complete release album.

This new single by Brandy completely shows a different side of her. She clearly stays true to who she is. There's definitely a vibe of Full Moon and Afrodisiac on this first single, but it's used on another level. Even the incorporation of Bran' Nu helps out a lot on this track. Her harmonies, melodic voice, and runs still shows that Brandy has what it takes to reclaim her spot and also that she still hasn't missed a beat yet in all these years. Brandy is an icon. And this new album is going to re-define her in so many ways. But Put it Down is a great song that has a lot of potential in it. It's definitely great for the club and Chris Breezy did his thang too on the track. Great job Brandy and Chris.

Maybe I missed the glow of this track but it sounds like a album filler at best. Im trying to hear what everyone is liking about it but I just cant this round. Completely forgettable and wont achieve any mainstream success.
