Brandy is back with a brand new song, but for those hoping it’s off her forthcoming comeback album, you’ll be disappointed. The veteran singer is joined by the likes of Musiq Soulchild, Kelly Rowland, Jill Scott and newcomer Wynter Gordon, among others, on the soundtrack to Tyler Perry’s new film (when doesn’t he have a new film?), Meet The Browns. On the Johnta Austin-written and Eric Hudson-produced Dig This, Brandy sends a message to relationships in turmoil; if you love someone, don’t be afraid to show some emotion, ya dig? The soundtrack, which is being released via Atlantic, will be in stores next Tuesday, March 18, and the film is set to follow on March 21..
This is cool. Brandy is still holding it down. Her songs are so much more mature. I still remember "Sitting In My Room" and stuff. I'm loving this. This is some chill music. It actually sounds like a Usher flow, ya know, her vocal delivery.
wow Brndy, welcome back.. DIG THIS.. that hair style , is WACK.. man just support ur lil brother, his "sexy can i" will bring home some money 4ya to get ur hair done :o)
Brandy still sounds good and still has a great singing voice. But that's about the end of the good I have to say about this track. It is a very average and forgettable tune. I just don't think this song is my type of R&B speed. It's just OK.
I think part of the problem is, most of the music game now caters to the folks who are looking for catchy hooks, hyperactive beats and gratuitous videos more than anything else. (Souljah Boy should be dropping something new for y'all soon.) Now, if you're part of the one in 250,000 who actually listens to lyrics and analyzes them in either a social or personal context, THIS IS A HOT SONG. Brandy has stood the test of time (but I bet y'all liked Cassie's hair, huh?) - and this is true to her style and nothing sounds forced here. The arrangement suits her voice perfectly, and I love the message (*stands up for her good man*). I wouldn't anticipate a comeback until she drops another album (sndtrks rarely revive anyone's career) - but I'm not changing the dial on this one....
Finally a comeback for her. Its a good song that does fit Tyler Perry's Soundtrack, but thats about it. Maybe she'll go back to the lab but this shouldnt be her 1st single.
it's a good song to vibe to, really pretty.
the whole concepts behind the lyrics reminds me a little bit too much of Mary J. Blige's "Without You" though.
it has potential though!! I'm thinking a good remix could a real improvment :)
I dont think anyone heard what the author of the article said. THIS IS NOT A SINGLE, it's just a song for the soundtrack. Anywho, I've listened to Brandy since "I wanna be down" and I think I was in like 7th grade when it came out. Believe me, she's got the money. She has the fame. Im sure if she wanted to, she could return. With the marginal success though, of Afrodesiac, I'm sure if she is coming back it will be something bigger and more hype than this. And ya'all need to quit hatin' onher hair. She OWNS a hair company, and it's very successful, she was smart, and started something that would make her money outside of music, and best believe, she does have more net worth than Ray-J, and his lil' ass voice could ever aspire.
i like this song better than that last song ... but i like this .. this wudda been nice on her album ... but brandy need to come harder still she need to get some club joints
I LIKE THIS SONG BRANDY USED TO BE MY FAVORITE SINGER UP UNTIL FULL MOON BUT THEN SHE CAME WITH AFRODESIAC THAT WAS MY SHIT SOMETIME IT SOUNDS LIKE SHE STRAINS HER VOICE LIKE ITS FORCED AND THATS A TURN-OFF BUT I'M STILL A FAN AND THE LYRICS TO THIS SONG I'M REALLY FEELIN' 4REAL THESE LYRICS ARE HOTTTT!
