Soulja Boy wants his 15 minutes of fame back. After becoming a mainstay in everything from clubs to frat parties in the fall of ’07 with Crank Dat, the Atlanta ringtone rapper quickly dropped off the face of the Earth. He has now turned to Bow Wow for work, in the hope that collaborating with an established artist can make him relevant again. The two unite on Bow Wow’s potential new single, Marco Polo. Soulja Boy handles the production and spits a quick verse, while Bow Wow takes over most of the rapping. Surprisingly, Soulja Boy is actually the star of the track, outshining Bow Wow with his dominating persona and his (gulp) lyrics. Could he actually be here to stay? The track will appear on Bow Wow’s upcoming album, H.I.M. (History In The Making).
Another simple beat from Soulja Boy and a rapper talking about stunting and money. The chorus is really really annoying, is Bow trying to appeal to the 5-10 year olds who play this game in the swimming pool??? I dont know, but the beat is weak and so are the lyrics. The only positive out of this is the collabo because I think it helps both sides working together. However, they need to come harder than this, especially Bow, who has been in the game for about 10 years now. His "Pole in the Basement" joint is crazy though! This one needs to be a throwaway, 1/5.
That Soulja Boy Fruit Loop is getting real old. Think he could afford something nicer, or at least use something diffrent(Polow da Don with Usher, lol).
LMAO! This song is hilarious. Soulja Boy just took Bow Wow's song from him. WOW!!! This is a Soulja Boy song featuring Bow Wow....I was taken back the 1st time I heard it bcuz its soo ridiculous...but in the right atmosphere...(drunk in a party) it can help u go off. lol
Are you being serious when you say Soulja Boy is the star of this song????? Soulja Boy sucks horribly bad in this, Bow is much better than Soulja. This song still sucks what kinda hook is this MARCO polo where do they get marco polo from?
Ok, the whole Marco Polo thing is already getting on my nerves. And was that Bow Wow doing his best Mike Jones impression giving out his phone number on the track??
I been waitin to hear this one. Soulja been pumpin this up/for a min. This beat is what I expected. The hook is terrible. Bow Wow is as Vain as ever on this one. I think they need to go back to the lab on this one. Not good.
It's really shocking to see people consider garbage Fruity Loops based beats as hard... There's nothing hard about this beat, believe me! Get the program and see it for yourself 0_o Geez! I was afraid I'd see Bow Wow or Omarion working with SB since I saw them on his video... and the nightmare has just become reality. 1 star goes for the Djbooth team, who was brave enough to feature this despite its complete lack of musical content, just to please likely fans. That’s what I call self-sacrifice.
Wow! In my opinion this garbage is exactly what's killing hip-hop. When hip-hop is completely dead we can all thank idiots like Soulja Boy. This is straight GARBAGE.
Since everyone has pretty much summed up this one, I will address a pet peeve of mine. Please try to refrain from making comments like: "this song is old already." This song is not even at radio yet. This song has not had a video filmed for it. Hell, it is not even officially recognized as a single by the label. It's merely a buzz record. It has floated around the internet in a mixtape form for maybe a month. The label just sent it to us this week. Please, recognize. Thanks (Z steps down from soap box).
Man, Bow Wow is way better than this. He needs to get away from Soulja Boy. Bow is not really one of my real favorite artists, but I've rocked with him in the past with jams like "Let Me Hold You Down", "Like You" and "Shorty Like Mine", not to mention the hot singles from the Omarion collabo. This is some of his worst work to date.
soulja boy is straight whack, i have respect for bow wow, but soulja boy has no damn telent.he is not rap, cannot rap and is not hip hop. people will forget about him and his "one hit wonder" in a year or 2.
by the way, one or a few people CANNOt kill hip hop. hip hop was there before most of them were even alive and will be there when there gone. "soulja boy" "v.i.c" and all this dance stuff will be forgotten aint no talent in what they do.
Charlie...soulja boy didnt lose his 15 minutes. he had a few good tracks on the circut. take shoppin spree and you on that list. good efforts by a young'n. by no means am i saying soulja boi is good at all. im saying he's not going anywhere for a while. About the song. the hook must be the worst i've heard. wow bows lyrics? nope! stick to songs about love. soulja boi? impressed me. "This is not the matrix, but I am the oracle. Now you wanna get with me? that was rhetorical!"
or something like that. i give it a 2. i expected better from bow wow since his last duet with O.
wow, it's creative (as creative as wearing red, white and blue on the fourth!) i think it does more for soulja's down spiraling career than bow wow..didnt he want to break out of the "PG-rated" stigma and he turns around and does a track with soulja boy? btw, adults are done with soulja's "brand" of hip-hop...the sooner kids catch on the soonest his done! i think soulja boy should do a track with jay-z (hahahahhahahaha!)
Soulja's beats are all the same. I can't distinguish a song by him from another one! This is extremely boring, I can't understand what's to listen here...the beat is weak, their flows too...do u know what's the only positive thing? Well, Bow Wow is extremely hot...I barely saw such an handsome black guy :pPpPpP
This isn't bad at all. 15 minutes of fame remark is false... Soulja does come with a little when he spits his verse. I admit that Marco Polo hook was a bit annoying but he sounds like he's doing Gucci Mane's style of rapping.
I have never liked Bow Wow so i wont rate this one. I dont think soulja boy is that great but at least he is just himself and isnt trying to be something else.
straight terrible. that private boy made me laugh tho. thats all he could do. some of yall have gotto be on dope. hard beat? haha yall should be shot. bow wow alreay sux in my opinion and he has ever since outa my system. 0.2
The repeatition of marco polo is close to the most annyoing thing ive heard in a song. Lately, everything Bow Wow has released has been sub-par and this is no different
soulja boy got money from simple a$$ beats and catchy tracks, can't hate on that. this track is wack, but it makes me laugh to hear SB spit with bow wow, if this comes on and i'm tipsy in the club i will get down to it!
Yikes! Imma go to jail.. Bow Wezzy is lookin' a lil too sexy in that flick. Whew! "Stay focused Royale"... Ummm... Ummmm... Oh yeah.. the song... ummm.. For it's worth, this track is a straight BANGER!
Yup, Soulja Boy is still murdering hip-hop with a Windows Media PLayer and a broke mic. I was disappointed in Bow Wow with this tho, hopefully he'll keep growing like he has recently.
I don't know why but I like Soulja Boy. His beats knock like crazy if you got a system. And his hooks are catchy. He can't rap worth a damn but you should never expect that from him. Bow Wow was okay. It might impossible to rip a soulja boy beat though
this is coo. just because a beat doesn't have 5000 instruments doesnt mean it cant go hard. bow wow and soulja boy both young and trynna make hot music
haha sounded HORRIBLE at first, but i gotta admit, lit or drunk, this song could get everyone going crazy. and soulja boy doing a song where hes not yelling crazy stuff? dammmm, he actually was decent on this, he is obviously trying hard to gain respect from even a small portion of the rap world. i didnt agree that soulja boy outdid bow wow tho, souljaboy without his crazy voice yellin bored m
The beat is nice. The chorus is definitely horrible! I've never been a fan of Bow Wow and Souljah Boy only has 1 song to be proud of. Too bad someone with more skills couldn't have rapped to this. So for me it's just ok.
Tanner... lmao.. kill me but the beat is kinda danceable. soulja's verse was hilarious, he's been tryin to reach "ok" status. bow wow has went harder, he should get T.I. to ghostwrite for him again. the hook is kinda stupid, but hopefully this song wont be on the album. even if it does become a single, atleast some people can have fun on the dance floor. all this song is missing is a better hook and Lil Boosie lmao
I don't see what's so wrong with this song? The beat is on fire. The only thing like a few people said was the Marco Polo was annoying. I've heard better from Bow Wow, and Soulja Boy sucks in my opinion but it's not bad at all. Though when they say Marco Polo it bother me
Soulja boy needs to seriously fire whomever iswriting his lyrics, evry mother-freakking song reminds me of SouljaBoy,yes it was a great hit,but remem ber soulja, lightning does not strike twice on the same place.
PS:boww wow this song is wakk
Damn soulja Boy his songs is wack yo he new to come out with some new shit. try new types of music his songs ain't that but try somethin not so simple. Bow Wow sucks he lowered soulja boy's rep. with his dumb ass song
Watch out Jigga, Soulja Boy Is Coming With His Dope Lyrics To Take Your Crown!!! lol
You Have The Number Call Bow Wow and Tell Him To Stop Making Music...
im with the beat im with the dance thing im with soulja boy, im with bow wow, hell these two do way better than bow and o so hell dont hate on the money. the fruityloops is workin for him so let him work it. Bow wow is hot on this actually both of them shined n this track and i dont know what the hell Marco Polo supposed to mean but its catchy and im witchu Z..... (Xxxclusive steps down from the Soap Box Goes to vip in the after spot and I dont drink wat they sell at gas stations) F#(k wit me Z!
cb come on now bro your default picture is of flavor flav prolly one of the worst artist ever! so why would your opinion count dog real talk.. MARCO POLO! HAHAHAHA
faboofd4l props to that comeback, that was some funny and true shit! haha. I'll admit Soulja Boy is probably equal to Flavor Flav, but the only reason I have this picture is for laugh's. By no means is Flav in the top 100 of my favorite rappers, let's be clear on that haha.
Uh oh.. bow wow stoopin down to Soulja Boy's level. Ya'll hear their doin a whole album together?
This song is... horribly sad. Bet Ill be learnin the dance to it by next weekend tho. lol
