Although the West Coast established its classic sound on a G-funk tip, most of the original big names have moved away from their old-school sound. Some underground locals, howver, are keeping that sound alive; enter newcomer Bossolo and his new single Have A Drink On Me. Although some liquor friendly rhymes are nothing new in hip-hop, Bossolo’s flow will remind you of several WC legends, and A-Clasik‘s production will definitely have you thinking back to Dre & Snoop‘s Nuthin’ But a G Thang. I think I remember Bossolo from a long time ago...Its always good to hear a good bouncing LA type of flow and beat. Its just that I can no longer take it for too long. I like the T-pain effect during the verses. The chorus is decent. Overall an average track.
This song is ok, but it needs that "wow" factor, like a feature artist to sing the hook, or a verse from someone like Game (I think he'd be perfect for a remix to this track).
I drove around the wintry streets of Chicago the other day and banged this out of my car. The sun was not up, my roof doesn't go up, and I don't have subs in my trunk. AND THIS STILL BANGED. Believe it or not, Bossolo does the rapping and the sining here. Not too bad. 50 should take notes on the singing tip.
