You know I’ll never lie to you, so honestly, I’m not so sure about the new sound rap icons Bone Thugs-N-Harmony seem to be going after. Like they did on the previously-featured Vegas (which sparked some intense debate in the Booth), the Bone Thugs are going after a distinctly electronic sound on their new offering Gone. Those of us who have been banging Bone Thugs since they were doing it for the love of money will no doubt be taken aback by Gone’s sparkling, Akon-esque production, courtesy of producer Fatboi, and while the Bone Thugs lyrically take a moment to look back on their long careers, Crossroads feels a long, long way off. Then again, maybe this is exactly what they need to do to attract younger fans. So Booth readers, now it’s up to you. Are the Bone Thugs almost gone, or do they still have a bright future ahead of them? We’ll find out for sure when BTNH’s new album Uni:5 The World’s Enemy finally drops on April 27.

they shouldn't have tried the autotune/picth correction...seriously that only work for some people...with that been said i like this song...its upbeat and in a new direction for bone...really not a classic like their other material...this is probally one of the beast songs i heard from them lately...med rotation....

for real for real this song isn't really their style, it's cool to venture out but don't try too hard and i think that's they were doing, they were trying to hard. Sometimes it's cool to just stay in the lane that you're used to cause sometimes it's the best lane

This song is fire yeah perhaps it's no crossroads or first of the month but still a song i look forward to putting on repeat.

I know you all had this debate ages ago of who is or was the best rapper ever and i enjoyed reading people's opinions however i was dissapointed that no bone thug was mentioned in anyone's top 5. There is a reason his named Krayzie Bone cause his flow is krazie mad no-one can match him for flow. i'm a big fan of pac and em and i rank Krayzie up there with them. layzie and bizzy up there aswell

My top 5
1.Krayzie Bone
2.Eminem
3.Tupac
4.K Sparks (thanks dj booth never knew of him before i found your site)
5.Old school Dre

I think they should have gotten someone else for the hook because the rest of the song was really solid. I know it's not their style (or wasn't) but they really did a good job on the verses. Beat was pretty tight too. 3.5

The '94 Bone Thugs would laugh at the '10 Bong Thugs. I (and most longtime fans) never would have imagined that BTNH would make a Top 40 radio record that appealed to Rhythmic over Urban stations. Wow.

While this is a strong departure from the sound of the Ohio natives I grew up listening to, it kinda works.

Sidebar: If the hook singer wants credit, please hit us up! We asked for your information, but were told it was an "uncredited" situation. Not cool if you ask me...

It's finally happened. I've become the old guy who just sits around and reminisces about the good ol days while complaining that the new music isn't nearly as good as the old stuff. I just...the lyrics and still on point, but this beat...I just...can't. Sorry.

@Nathan What's up Man? I'll send you some beats. You've got TALENT. Maybe it's just because I can relate to the lyrics, but I think this is really good. That's the point of Music right? The ability to connect to your listeners. This isn't "Foe The Love of $", but It's certainly not "Vegas" either.

Singer (Ricco Barrino?) does his thing for the hook, and even though verses aren't really a standout on this track; as a package this song works for me.

This must of been recorded before bizzy bone got back with the group.. "strength and loyalty days" or maybe not flesh is on the track.. overall good track.. I am still screaming Everyday thang part 3.. that would be a solid single. Considering everyone is saying stupid stuff like, I like the old bone... come on people grow up.. No one stays the same in music.. everyone grows in life and styles evolve into something new...

Too many of the old school rappers/groups seem to be afraid of going back to their roots of bringing the attitude back into their songs. Three 6 Mafia, Twista, BTNH...I grew up listening to them and the "club bangers" or "Top 40" music they are putting out just isn't getting it done for me.

as surprising (unpleasant) as this tune was, it's well put together and it works.. if youre into the pop-py stuff. i for one, am not. as many already stated, it leaves you wondering what happened to the good ol' bone thugs.

I'm liking the new sound & lyrics Bone is coming with so far since Flesh got out. They ain't the same kids hustlin up $ to get to Cali no more. They're grown & with families & seeing the real issues of society & the world, & their new music shows this. I will always love their older stuff, but like them I'm in a different part of my life now & I'm feelin it.

What in the world is this? it sounds like a straight pop song. I hope they don't pull a Three 6 Mafia and totally ditch their fan base. Even though this could be a radio hit, I want to hear the Thuggish Ruggish Bone.

You know it's been a long time since they had the spot light. Hell, to me [a 15 year old] that almost seems like hip-hop history! I like the new direction. This Will definitely attract new younger fans. Also, i think they are practically the same group that they where but mellowed down on violence that they really liked in their old songs, and rapping over electronic/techno-ish beats. They still rap their $hit fast; that's no doubt. They are still hip-hop.
